John 3:4-10
Whosoever committeth sin transgresseth also the law: for sin is the transgression of the law.
And ye know that he was manifested to take away our sins; and in him is no sin.
Whosoever abideth in him sinneth not: whosoever sinneth hath not seen him, neither known him.
Little children, let no man deceive you: he that doeth righteousness is righteous, even as he is righteous.
He that committeth sin is of the devil; for the devil sinneth from the beginning. For this purpose the Son of God was manifested, that he might destroy the works of the devil.
Whosoever is born of God doth not commit sin; for his seed remaineth in him: and he cannot sin, because he is born of God.
In this the children of God are manifest, and the children of the devil: whosoever doeth not righteousness is not of God, neither he that loveth not his brother.
God set some boundaries that remain the same for all people of all covenants and dispensations. The Law of God has always been "the soul that sinneth it shall die" (Ezekiel 18:4, 20). Even from the very beginning of the Adamites all it took was one sin for Adam and Eve to be cut off from God (Genesis 2:17; 3:1-24). All it took for the Old Covenant saints to be cut off from God's salvation was one sin (Ezekiel 18:4, 20). The New Testament is just as clear in revealing that all it takes is ONE single sin to damn one's soul for all eternity (Romans 6:23; 8:6-10; James 1:14-15; 5:19-20), and this is irrespective of whether or not that person was ever saved, for the Scriptures say, "But he that doeth wrong shall receive for the wrong which he hath done: and there is no respect of persons" (Colossians 3:25).
