INSTRUCTIONS FOR USING EMBLAZE AUDIO |
To hear the Emblaze Audio recordings, you will need a Java-enabled browser such as Internet Explorer or Netscape. No plug-in or special software is required.
While RealAudio does have a higher sound quality, Emblaze Audio requires no special software and is greatly compatible for those with even the slowest modems. You can download the RealAudio version of each broadcast by clicking here.
If you have any problems playing the Emblaze Audio files, it most likely is because your browser has the Java and JavaScript options disabled. The Emblaze Audio player is a Java Applet and requires that your browser support Java and have it enabled in order to play. Due to the fact that the Emblaze Audio recording of the program is run from your browser you cannot close or leave the program's page until you are done listening. If you leave or close the program's page it will stop the Emblaze Audio playing. You can press the Ctrl and N buttons together to open a new browser window (this works in both Internet Explorer and Netscape) and let this one with the program playing in it stay in the background.
To learn the exact details on how to set your browser's settings so that it will play Emblaze Audio I will quote from the Emblaze Audio User's Guide:
|
When you install Netscape Navigator or Microsoft Internet Explorer, the setup programs configure the browsers to support Java. In most cases, you will never have to change the settings, but it's a good idea to check and make sure that all of the Java settings are enabled. Under Microsoft Internet Explorer 4.0, the settings for Java need to be changed in order to run Java applets (see below). Following are suggested configuration techniques and setup information: Netscape Navigator 3.0x Standard and Gold
4.0x (including all Communicator versions)
There are two ways to change the settings on Internet Explorer, one is through the Control Panel and the other is through the File Menu while Internet Explorer is open. Either one will globally change the settings. We will focus on changing the settings while the browser is open.
