DOES MARY HAVE SPECIAL ACCESS TO JESUS? BY RYAN HICKS © 1996-1999 Ryan Hicks |
The Roman Catholic Church and many Roman Catholics claim that Mary has special access to Jesus that no others can have. She has this supposed special access because she gave birth to the Son of God. Thus, she is the Catholic's co-redemptrix (co-redeemer). Yet, the Lord Jesus Himself revealed that Mary has no greater access to Him than anyone else who does the will of God. The Scriptures saith,
Mark 3:31-35
31 There came then his brethren and his mother, and, standing without, sent unto him, calling him.
32 And the multitude sat about him, and they said unto him, Behold, thy mother and thy brethren without seek for thee.
33 And he answered them, saying, Who is my mother, or my brethren?
34 And he looked round about on them which sat about him, and said, Behold my mother and my brethren!
35 For whosoever shall do the will of God, the same is my brother, and my sister, and mother.
This thoroughly destroys the tradition of devils and men that the Roman Catholic Church has dreamed up about Mary having some supposed special access to Jesus. You can only go to Jesus by going directly to Him! Not through a saint or your pagan goddess "The Queen of Heaven" that you call "Mary." You also can only get to God the Father through Jesus alone (John 14:6; 1 Timothy 2:5).
