PROOF THAT PETER WAS MARRIED! BY RYAN HICKS © 1996-1999 Ryan Hicks |
1 Corinthians 9:5
5 Have we not power to lead about a sister, a wife, as well as other apostles, and as the brethren of the Lord, and Cephas?
Cephas (Peter) clearly was married and led around his wife on his travels. Can the Roman Catholic Church do away with such clarity? They have went the way that the Bible said all along and gave heed to seducing spirits and teach doctrines of devils. The Bible has this to say about people who forbid anyone to marry:
1 Timothy 4:1-3
1 Now the Spirit speaketh expressly, that in the latter times some shall depart from the faith, giving heed to seducing spirits, and doctrines of devils;
2 Speaking lies in hypocrisy; having their conscience seared with a hot iron;
3 Forbidding to marry, and commanding to abstain from meats, which God hath created to be received with thanksgiving of them which believe and know the truth.
So Peter was far from being the first Pope, as a matter of a fact he would sternly rebuke the apostate religion of Roman Catholicism with words such as, "Feed the flock of God which is among you, taking the oversight thereof, not by constraint, but willingly; not for filthy lucre [i.e. indulgences, robbing saints by forcing them to take vows of poverty if they are going to serve God], but of a ready mind; Neither as being lords [i.e. Popes pretending to be Christ on earth] over God's heritage, but being ensamples to the flock" (1 Peter 5:2-3).
