I was talking to a lady who had asked me a question about the Bible. She had told me of how she had stopped reading the Bible and serving the Lord many years ago. When I asked her what got her to decide to repent and serve the Lord again she said that it was the Littleton School shooting of April 20, 1999. She also mentioned the young woman, Cassie Bernall, who died a martyr's death for her faith during that shooting.
This is only one person, but I am sure that there are many, many others who were hit with the realization of the shortness of life and how quickly it can be taken. Let the Littleton shooting accomplish good in your life. Are you willing to die for the Lord Jesus Christ like Cassie Bernall did? Are you faithfully serving the Lord and bringing glory to Him? Much good can come from this event in spite of the evil that occurred in this shooting if people's lives are changed and people repent and believe on the Lord Jesus Christ!
This just proves the Scripture to be true once again, for the Scripture has said since the first century, "And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose." We that love the Lord have seen the Lord bring much good from this tragedy and people repenting and following the Lord is one of the greatest things that can come from such a tragedy!
