Am I the only one who is not concerned about the height issue regarding the casting of Anakin? He should be 6 feet or over (Paul Walker is 6'4"! If only he were younger!) but it doesn't really matter that much. But he doesn't need to be as tall as Vader was. Vader is like mostly machine. I am sure when Anakin(Darth Vader by then) falls into the molten pit and the Emperor saves him by turning him into a machine, he makes him larger and taller. I love that third pic, KlingKlang. Something about that boy is so deliciously attractive. How could George in his right mind pick Chris Masterson from Malcolm in the Middle over this kid? He's not going to find anyone as tall as Dave Prowse that's exactly right for the part in coloring and physical description. Charlie is taller than Ewan--that's enough for me. Sheesh. If Robin picked Jake over Haley Joel, who knows what will happen though? I simpley cannot picture Masterson as Anakin. Masterson looks like a mousketeer. IP: Logged |

I, for one, hope they'd cast someone who's at least 6', hopefully even between 6'1" and 6'3". The person would be obviously taller than Natalie and Ewan. Ewan's what 5'8" or something like that, right? Honestly, though, I don't think that either Robin Gurland or George Lucas care about height. They can make an excuse for the height issue over the Darth Vader costume. The "we can rebuild him" to even larger proportions comes to mind in Ep.III. IP: Logged |

Big eyeroll time! I agree with ewangirl--Anakin the Second doesn't need to be as big as Dave Prowse. Vader was basically a big walking life support machine. Anakin's limbs could've been burned or ruined to the point where prosthetics would've been necessary. Just by looking at Vader's costume, you can see it was designed to inspire fear and intimidation. Height would definitely help inspire both. I'm not going to get into the trap of "I only want so-and-so" for the part. I'm sure whoever gets the role will suit it well. ------------------ IP: Logged |

to add to the height debat. natalie is petite. she's like 5'2" or something. it would look funny if the actor choosen was too tall. and who really cares how he looks. the question should be can he act? ------------------ IP: Logged |

Ewan is 5'10 1/2 feet tall... do we want Anakin taller that his Jedi Master? I don't .... But it really doesn't matter how tall he is , he just has to fit the part... Ewan can wear higher shoes or stand on things like he did in Episode I next to Liam. IP: Logged |

Actually Anakin should be taller than Obi-Wan. He was as a ghost in ROTJ. I don't think it would detract from Obi-Wan at all. IP: Logged |
