NOTES:
This is set two months after the events in the Wish Universe. Nancy and Oz are both white hats. Nancy is best known for being the "I hate that girl." girl in Earshot. And the *...* mean Nan's thoughts.

For Emilie. I hope you like this. It's um...Well read it.

"Don't touch me!" *God, I hate when this happens. When things like this happen you just react and you know it's the wrong thing to say. You can see the hurt and pain on their face and you say it anyway. Because you're an asshole. Because life like this turns sinners into monsters and saints into monsters and little red haired guitar players into monsters.* Nancy backed up
against the wall interrupting her own internal monologue for a second. She really wasn't sure when she'd started doing that but hell as long as she was still breathing.

Oz was stumbling up against the wall. Nancy saw the spasm run through him. It was like every part of him was trying to escape his frame. "Please...I don't.." Oz's face was a mask of pain. Nancy took another step back.

"You lied to me," *Tears are going to pour down my face now and make me look stupid and pathetic. Doesn't really matter since my friend is about to tear me into tiny chunks of bloody flesh. Why didn't he tell me? Why the fuck didn't he tell me? We've been doing this vampire hunting thing since the Master rose. We'd been seeing each other since the factory was destroyed. Since Giles suicided after that power center/necklace thing he smashed didn't change things and Buffy's body was found nailed to the front of his house. God that sucked.* "The sun, Oz! The fucking sun's going down, you lying sack of shit!"

"Nan?"

"NO! Don't even! Don't look all scared. I know you're full of it! You told me your cousin bit you..." Nancy's hands reached behind her and felt a solid concrete wall. *I need a weapon. Have to save myself. Oh, God this can't be happening. He can't be.*

Oz took a step towards her, making her jump and skitter sideways along the wall. "I didn't...I'd never lie. We can't lie. We lie to one another we die remember? Giles taught," He doubled over in pain. "US that. Me. You. Larry. The others. God, help me." He slid forward and couldn't manage to hold himself upright. Tumbling to the carpet he let out another painful sound.

*I'm not falling for it. I'm not going to go over there and get my face ripped off. I'm smarter than that. C'mon Nan. Find a weapon!* Her eyes scanned the room. There wasn't any silver in the school's basement. Nancy gagged as Oz's body started to shift making off popping and hissing noises. His breathing was ragged and obstructed by elongating teeth, still he managed
a pathetic, "What's happening to me Nan? What's happening?"

"You're a werewolf Oz. And shouldn't you be asking what's going to happen to ME? You're going to kill me Oz! You're going to change and then you're going to eat me up. God if I'm lucky I'll die quick. I'll fucking die! If not I'll wake up cursed like you. Just what this town needs, right? Another fucking breed of monster!"

*His eyes almost convinced me. I'm not going to help him. He's my friend. He was my friend. Now...I've gotta get out of here.* "I've gotta get out of here!" Nancy turned her back. She heard fabric ripping and Oz's voice crying out in shock. "No. he whispered. "I won't hurt you..."

"YEAH RIGHT!" She screamed grabbing the railing and launching herself up the stairs. Grabbing the door was a shock. *THE KEY! Oz has the keys he has the keys he has them.* Nancy pulled futilely at the door. But it wasn't any use. Oz had locked it saying something weird had happened to him last night. She whipped around to face him. "Oz??"

Like a perfect horror movie, she couldn't see him in the dark as her thoughts raced a thousand words a second. *We were going to go away together. Just for a little while Oz, me and you. Because I love you. Now you're going to kill me and you won't even remember it.* The darkness breathed. Sweet gentle Oz with his quiet voice who made promises to her of a better life as the bodies of her parents were tossed into an incinerator....He was going to kill her. "Oz?"

He didn't answer. The force of an incoming werewolf hit her and slammed her through the door. she crashed into the library. Stunned. The beast crawled to its feet and Nancy ran for the cage. Diving in she slammed the door shut but it was too late. Her mind whirled down to a single thought as she touched the three claw marks on her throat. "Damn. Now I'll have to kill both of us."

The End.
