"Um Willow?"
"Yes Giles."
"Can you stay here for a little while and help me with this damn contraption that you call a computer?"
Laughing Willow replies, "Sure Giles, let me call home and leave a message for mom just in case she decides to check up on me. Be back in a sec." Willow walks into Giles office to use the phone.
Thinking to himself, Giles can't believe how selfish Willow's parents could be, by leaving their daughter for long periods of time and not bother to check up on her. Truthfully that is why he started to have Willow stay late to help him research so she wouldn't be lonely. He used to think of her as if she was a daughter-figure to him. Used to was the word. Now he knows he feels something much more towards her.
*Giles, old man, you are so stupid! Why would Willow feel anything towards you? Hell if you say anything you could end up scaring her out of your life!!!*
Looking up, he sees Willow come out of his office.
"Well Giles, I left a message. So what demon are we looking up tonight?"
"Well actually we or I should say you, because I'm not touching that awful thing" pointing to the computer, "are looking up a prophecy that deals with the spirits of Halloween, it may almost all night to look up though."
"Oh, that's okay, I'm all yours tonight." Willow says with a smile.
Hearing this, Giles can't help but look down and he can't help thinking, "if that were only true, Willow."
Willow sits down at the computer and starts to look on the net about the subject of Halloween.
"Is there anything I should be looking up specifically?" Willow asks while looking at the computer screen. Not getting an answer, Willow turns around and raises her voice, "Giles?"
Snapping out of it, Giles blushes because he realizes he was starring at her. He quickly looks away. "What Willow? What did you say?"
"I said, is there anything specifically I need to be looking up? No wait, don't answer that yet. I want to know what you are thinking, you looked deep in thought for a second there."
*If you only knew*, Giles thought. "Oh it's nothing, we better get going on this prophecy." Turning around and heading for the stacks, he tries to keep his mind off Willow.
Not letting Giles off the hook, Willow jumps up from the chair and follows him. "Not so fast Giles, you know you can talk to me, I won't say anything."
Giles just stops and looks at her. "But if you don't want to tell me, then that's fine also, I'll understand." Willow looks down hoping Giles will talk to her.
"Willow, it's not that I don't want to tell you, I just don't think I can. I'm afraid that if I tell you what I'm thinking, you'll think less of me."
Stepping closer to him, Willow puts her hand on his arm. "Giles, you know I could never do that. You are one of my best friends." Giles flinches at the word "friend". Noticing this, Willow moves her hand and steps back thinking that she did something wrong.
Seeing the hurt look on Willow's face, Giles takes her hand in his. "Willow, if I tell you what I was thinking, do you promise that you won't think bad of this old British man?"
"Giles, you are not old!"
"Let me finish Willow."
"Sorry, continue please"
Smiling Giles takes her other hand in his. "You don't have to apologize, you don't ever have to apologize to me."
"Okay, here I go. Willow Rosenburg, I have grown quit smitten with you over the past year and I was wondering if there was a small chance of hope that you could return these feelings."
Giles kept his eyes on Willow's to see if she would turn away in disgust or if she would smack him.
Not believing what she heard, Willow was at a loss of words. "Wha..,Um…Huh?"
"Did you say that you like me?"
Thinking that she didn't return his feelings Giles dropped her hands and was getting ready to walk away when Willow grabbed him and kissed him hard on the
lips.
Returning her kiss, Giles picks up Willow and swings her around.
"Giles, you're making me dizzy!"
"Sorry luv, I can't help it! Does this mean that there is a possibility that you do return my feelings?"
"Possibilities? Giles I most certainly do return your feelings! I have felt this way towards you for such a long time, but I didn't say anything because I didn't think that you felt this way, and I didn't want Buffy or Xander to find out that I liked you, because I knew that they would tell you and if you didn't like me then I would feel like a dumb ox, and I would have to quite school and move away because I would be so embarrassed and….."
Grabbing Willow, "Luv, even though you are beautiful when you babble, shut-up for a second so I can kiss you, okay?"
Putting her arms around his neck and running her fingers through his hair Willow replies in a husky voice, "Anything you say sir, you are the librarian, and I did say I was all yours tonight."
Bending down to place his lips on hers, Giles replies with a Ripperish laugh, "I like that sound of that, young lady!"
While all of this is taking place neither one notices that a certain blonde vampire is watching them, thinking to himself, *Well, well, look at his, the librarian and the Witch. I'm gonna have some fun tonight!*
