This craft recycles socks and tin cans lids.
Materials:
Adult white sock
Tin can lid (remove sharp edges)
Cinnamon ornaments
3 rubber bands
¾ cup dried beans, rice,
corn, peas or any similar material
Fabric paint
Scraps of material, buttons, etc.
Fiberfill stuffing
Directions:
Put tin can lid in the toe
of the sock. Add about ¾ cup dried beans. Stuff the
neck of the sock with fiberfill. Secure with rubber band. Stuff
sock with additional fiberfill to make head. Make sure to leave about
3 or 4 inches from the top of the sock empty. Secure the top of the
filled section of the sock with a rubber band and fold the sock back down
to make the hat. Decorate with paint, cinnamon ornaments (see directions
below), fabric, and buttons to make the snowman's face and clothes.
Cinnamon Ornament Recipe
Materials:
½ cup white glue
1 cup cinnamon
1 cup apple sauce
Directions:
Thoroughly mix the ingredients
to make a “dough”. Roll out dough with rolling pin. Cut shapes
out with cookie cutters. Let pieces dry for 3-5 days. Sprinkle
with glitter and paint as desired. Attach to snowman.
