DX NEWS:

NORTH KOREA - ANOTHER SAD HAM HISTORY - according to Tom's mail Anderson, WW5L vice-president and director of information of the Lone Star DX Association ( http://www.dxer.org/lsdxa  ) the authorities of Korea of the North removed him their team to the Dr. David Borenstein KA2HTV before he could at least to begin their activity of DXpedition. When he arrived August 9 in Korea of the North, the Ministry of Communications revised all its team, but apparently the whole team of KA2HTV thought the authorities that it was donating it to the government, because previously they had requested him that it donated team to go promoting the radio in that country. The team included an IC735, an antenna Hexbeam, a High Sierra tripod, a rotor Jaesu, a source of power of double voltage. And the DPRK's Committee Cultural for Relations with Foreign Countries, gave the Dr. Borenstein a receipt where he thanks him the "donation" of that whole team. The Dr. it doesn't consider this as a failure, but like an opportunity to open the doors of Korea of the North for possible radio activities to future. But you reader believes that it will be really this way?.

TRICK FOR 80 METERS - This is a simple trick for stations in portable operations. George K5KG explains to us that it is necessary to make a dipolo for 80-meters for SSB and CW without antenna tuner, it is only necessary to put a double line. Install a connector approximately SO239 to a foot of the end of each leg. When it operates in SSB it puts in short circuit each leg in the connector SO239. For CW it removes the short circuit to the connector PL259 that goes to the coaxial one. This allows him to have the appropriate resonacia for each way. For example, make the "V" invested of 119 feet long for resonance approached in 3900 khz, or 59.5 feet in each leg. (sent by Héctor XE2K).

GALLERY DE QSL ANTARCTIC DE - Gianni I1HYW writes us to the "DX Bulletin of XE1BEF" to inform us that in the Dynamic DX Charterhouse ( www.ddxc.net ) and in WAP Worldwide Antarctic Program ( www.ddxc.net/wap ) it is already available the new gallery of QSLs of Antarctica, with 402 QSL of Antarctica from 1961 to the date. 38 QSL old Antarctica of 1945 at 1960, before the Treaty of Antártida. Upgrading will also be been and even if you not have a QSL it is not in this Gallery, he will be thanked a lot if he sends a photographic file. Mainly, he will be appreciated to who sends of Aukland (ZL WAP NZL-04) that have not been able to find. Thank you for their cooperation. Antarctica enjoy.
