Well the time has come for me to indulge you in the self-centeredness of me. You have to have gauge to devote a page all to yourself, but I am no different from the 80 billion self-surrounding web pages out there. Little to your knowledge, Hack & Slash started out as nothing but a few pages about me. It was weak and shotty, but hell I was just learning HTML. As time pasted I began to notice all of my stories and essays I was writing were somehow linked or referenced to slasher films. I decided to go in a whole other direction. I would devote my web site to nothing but slasher films. Unfortunately my pages were nothing too pleasing to the eye. I did however come into the companionship of photo shop. With that said, I began to work more on the look. You know. I am probably boring you with the technical of this site, which I do recognize is not quite so thrilling.

FYI : I'm the one on the far right --->

Steering back on the right track of the article.me. Well I am a boy of many hobbies and interests. It has long been desires of mine to one day become a filmmaker. Growing up I wasted away in front of hammer horror and the universal monsters. To one day develop a motion picture that can withstand the time such as they have, would fill my heart with not only satisfaction, but also school girl glee. Directing is not all I plan to do. For the past eight years I have been refining my skills as a special effects make up artist, and so far my work has been nothing but pleasing. The past three years have been the most evolved, I began making my own appliances, fake heads, arms, legs, you name it. Sculpting (one of the prime talents involved in mask/ appliance making) is a passion of mine that I don't think will ever die.

I am an average, well-adjusted guy. If you look at the picture above you can see me on the far right. I am standing next to my good buddy Justin and the incomparable Shirley Eaton (Jill Masterson (gold woman) from Gold Finger). Surprisingly I ran into her at The Waffle House. Crazy. Like I said, I am very normal, or so I think. Horror fans have gotten a bad wrap for being gothic lithium induced weirdoes. I am none of the above. I have never in my life been gothic, depressed; I don't even have a tattoo! I'm a bit of a mama's boy that looks very young for his age.

FYI : A small fraction of my personal collection

I was born and reared in Murfreesboro Tennessee in the good old US of A. It is a city of about 75,000 but never seems quite so big. Starbucks is the nightlife, for most of the city it seems. My buddies and I take to doing something of a more traditional entertainment. We do crazy stuff like jump off rock quarries, Geo- tracking, caving, just some good ol' Tennessee boys for you. I am so blessed to have such great friends. They get pretty annoyed with me though when I rant and rave about Fulci's The Beyond or Carpenter's Halloween, but they deal with it. They're not so fond of going on movie hunts with me, but once again, they deal with it.

My movie taste is probably much like yours. I love my horror flicks, but I love the broad variety of all movies more. Drama, Action, Comedy, Horror, Foreign, I love it all. My favorite films include Forest Gump,Taxi Driver,The Deer Hunter,Edward Scissorhands,Pulp Fiction, where as my horror favorites are The Burning, Halloween, My Bloody Valentine, The Texas Chainsaw Massacre, and Friday the 13th, Different strokes for different folks.

I'm a big fan of music, but I'm rather picky. I've become prone to names like Jack Johnson, Jason Mraz, John Mayer, Maroon 5, Ben Harper, the list goes on. I'm a rather mellow guy, and I like my mellow music. I'm not a fan of metal, rap, or any of that factory made punk emo crap. I think a person's music is a reflection of them. Your music changes as your mood does. There have been times when I'll be rocking to something like Howie Day, and then I'll turn around and pop in Dashboard Confessional.
