Dream 5 (RF2292)
Track diagram (focus on only the red part)
Setting: Daytona International Speedway (a 2.5 mile tri-oval track [four turns] resembling a bloated oval, 31 degrees of banking in the corners [two or three stories high]
Characters: RF2292 in the 7 car, sponsored by Pepsi
Sathya in the 3 car, sponsored by Coca-Cola
Kalin in the 4 car, sponsored by Wrigley's
Dan Miller in the 56 X-Box car
Driver X in the 16 car, sponsored by N'Sync
Dreamer's Note: This is racing-related, so most of the details will stay in my head, but I'll do my best to spit them. In the dream, which is similar to my computer game, I own both the 3 and 4 teams and drive for the 7. Pictures of those cars are in RF's racing site.
There is one lap to go in the race, and Sathya leads a line of cars (avg. lap speed: 188 mph) into turn one, coming out of the tri-oval. Driver X is second, Dan is third, I'm sitting fourth, and Kalin's fifth. The view goes inside my car during the turns, looking out from my car one can see the heads of the other drivers in front of me.
Down the backstretch I pull out of the draft line (when a line of cars run together, they create more speed than cars running side by side or by themselves, hence the other cars are following in the draft of each other), looking for partners to go with me (One car by itself cannot pass two or three others without help from a nearly equivalent number). Kalin follows me to the inside line, and Dan moves out to block me. We bump each other, breaking each other's momentum, but I make it past into third. Meanwhile, Driver X pulls to the outside of Sathya for the lead and the lion's share of the two million dollar purse. I run up on her and deliver a bump, pushing her back into the lead. Kalin pulls out from behind me, leaving me all alone.
Now, going to turn three, I'm sliding back, and I look out from the right-side window to see Kalin nudge Driver X in the turn (A cardinal sin of this kind of racing, contact between cars running nose to tail in a turn will usually result in the lead car losing control) and I see Driver X fishtail out of control, turn hard left into me, and we both head into the turn four wall.
Up front, Kalin has drawn alongside Sathya as they head for the checkered flag. I'm sitting in the car, wondering what my teammate was thinking and vowing to fire him after the race (not seriously).
Who won? Well, who do you think won?
