 ON THE TRAIL 6: LAY IT ON THE LINE  To borrow a phrase from a well known BBC TV sports commentator, The Beast opens his legs and shows his class. The trail leads us on along the disused railway track, and just to prove that we do actually follow a trail, that white blob by his foot is a pile of sawdust not a giant bird dropping.
