MOTHECOMBE BEACH
Mothecombe Beach lies
at the mouth of the River Erme which rises on Dartmoor. The land
alongside the estuary is owned by a private estate, but Drake
H3 has been fortunate to get the owner's permission to run in
this area. Although the beach is also privately owned, it is
open to the public. Drake H3 trails usually take in the woods
beside the river, farm land, mudflats and the beach, as well
as often involving the crossing of the estuary at low tide. As
you can see, it's a lovely part of the world and is always a
popular location for a run.
