BENCH TOR RIDGE

Bench Tor ridge JPEG

Bench Tor ridge with its rocky outcrops runs at a right angle to the Dart Valley. It offers superb views, and a summer hash in good weather along it is a magical experience (we have also run it in winter in the rain and mist - but you can't have everything!). The aptly named Sharp Tor can be seen at the top left hand side of the photo. The rocks on the other side of the valley (top right hand of the photo) are Mel Tor and Bel Tor. The photo was taken at the end of August when the bracken in the foreground was just beginning to change colour.
