T.T. "Conrad, how do you like the MONSTER BASH 1999!!?"
C.B. "Fantastic! In fact I'll be back next year with "Delores Fuller", the young lady that played with me in "GLEN OR GLENDA", in 1952. Then 45 years later I had the opportunity to work with her again in a picture tilted, "IRON BOUND VAMPIRE", directed by Carl Petry. She's a very good looking lady."
T.T. "What was it like, working for ED WOOD JR, and BELA LUGOSI?"
C.B. "Ed was a SUPER guy, very out going. I could always go to Ed if I had a problem, whether it was a money problem, or if I wasn't happy with a script.
Whatever it was he would help you out. He wasn't big on micromanaging with his Directing, he would let you play your parts your own way. I loved Bela, he was one of my all time idols. I loved all of his films, from "DRACULA", to the last Ed Wood movie. It was great working with him. I really looked up to Bela, he was a great actor, and he was a great man."
T.T. "The Ed Wood Crew were kind of a big happy family, huh!?"
C.B. "Oh, Yeah, I had to pay Ed's rent sometimes, when you're making low budget pictures it's with funny money sometimes; sometimes it's there, and sometimes it isn't. We always helped each other out."
T.T. "What motivated you to get involved in these kind of motion pictures?"
C.B. "I had no particular interest in getting into the picture business, I don't know, maybe it's the glamour, but even prize fighting has an element of glamour. I guess it's who you know, and I knew Ed Wood. I worked in pictures before meeting Ed, namely the "Bowery Boys", but after meeting Ed I stuck with him."
T.T. "What was your favorite role?"
C.B. I've really enjoyed all of them, but the comedy roles I'm enjoying more and more. Recently I've done "MISFIT PATROL" with Vernon Wells, where I played Officer Murphy; that was an excellent part. Then there's the great God Father type of character I played in "Armageddon Boulevard."
T.T. "What are your plans for the future?"
C.B. "KEEP WORKING!! I have current projects out now, like, "IRON BOUND VAMPIRE", "ARMAGEDDON BOULEVARD", "MISFIT PATROL", "BIKINI DRIVE-INN", and last, but not least; "BABY GHOST". I'm starring in it with Joe Estivez, who is Martin Sheen's brother. Yeah, I'll keep working, and why not? Right now I'm doing a picture called "JAN-GEL: THE BEAST FROM THE EAST", which I'm starring and directing. I think it'll go over big, maybe with a sequel. Meanwhile, I'll be visiting with everyone at these great conventions. *Interview taken at Monster Bash 1999- Drac
