Girls Just Want to Have Fun stars Sarah Jessica Parker as Janey Glenn, a straight-laced Catholic schoolgirl who has the hassle of constantly moving from place to place because her father is an Army colonel. Lee Montgomery is Jeff Malene, Janey's enemy-turned-object of affection, a nonchalant hunk of a guy complete with leather jacket and a motorcycle. Helen Hunt is Lynne Stone, a quirky and fabulously fun girl at Janey's new school who helps Janey break out of the confinements of parental strictness. Other big names in the film are Shannen Doherty (Heathers, Beverly Hills 90210) and Jonathan Silverman (Weekend at Bernies, The Single Guy). Shannen is Maggie Malene, Jeff's little sister who is dying to grow up, and Jonathan plays the part of Drew, Jeff's dorky but energetic best friend.
