Charles W. Milk Dies: Charles W. Milks was born Jan. 5, 1897, in Lester Township (Black Hawk Co, IA) and lived on the farm west of town most of the time. In 1915 he was married to Miss Jessie A. Miller, of Fairbank township. To this union were born eight children: Velma, Raburn, Zelma, Helen, Bennie, Wanda, Charles Jr, of whom Wilma preceded him in death. He also leaves his father and mother, Thomas and Lizzie Milks, of this place; two brothers, Vern and Russell, of this place, one sister, of Contentment, Montana. He also leaves many friends and relatives. He was baptized in the German Lutheran church of this place. He was a kind and loving husband and took great interest in his family and was well liked by all. He passed away at his farm Friday evening at 6:30 p.m. at the evening meal. The funeral services were held at the Methodist church in Fairbank Monday afternoon at 2 p.m. conducted by the pastor, Rev. Clarence Oelfke. Burial was in the Fairbank Cemetery. Tuesday, February 23, 1954, WATERLOO * CEDAR FALLS COURIER Funeral services will be at 2:30 p.m. Wednesday at O'Keefe & Towne Funeral Home for Mrs. George M. Tann, 57, of Wyandotte St. in Maywood addition, who died at 10:20 a.m. Monday at Schoitz Memorial hospital. Death was caused by a cerebral hemorrhage. the Rev. William Crossley, pastor of St. Paul's Methodist Church, will officiate at the serivces. Burial will be in Midwest Garden of Memories. She was born Sept. 23, 1896, at Brandon, the daughter of Martin and Elizabeth Miller. She was married Sept. 8, 1915, in Independence to Charles W. Milks who preceded her in death in 1931. She was married to George M. Tann, Oct. 20, 1933, in Bllomingotn, Ill. Surviving are her husband; five daughters, Mrs. Gust Fink, Fairbank; Mrs. Edward Tann, 412 Conger St.; Mrs Lyle D. Brown, Jesup; Miss Doris and Miss Darlene, at home; three sons, Rayburn Milks, Rt. 3; Ben Milks, 1704 Sycamore St., and Charles W. Milks, 525 Evans Rd., Evansdale; a brother, Bert Miller, Independence; three sisters, Mrs. Joe Fraggert, Oran; Mrs. Harold Weber, Fairbank, and Mrs. Gladys VanLaningham, Independence; 26 grandchildren and one great grandson. She was preceded in death by two daughters and four grandchildren.
