Project Description: Back in 1994 we bought a rural residential split-level house in Fairfield County, Ohio. We had always planned on enlarging the back room kitchen and adding more living space. Finally with the persuasion of our two growing boys these dreams are becoming a reality. We sketched a plan for a 40 x 24 ft2 addition that would include a kitchen, dining room, office, master bedroom with bath. With this in mind we never did any landscaping to the back of the house. Rather unsightly, but it was easy to maintain. |

Back of house remains as it has for 7+ years. This is a shot of the back where the addition will be built. |

| Week of May 29 | Construction begins. Foundation is dug and footer is poured. Continued rains made for difficulties: pumping out water, cement truck got stuck in yard, and mud baths for the boys to play in. |

| Week of June 17 | Finally ground conditions have dried out after a record wet spring. Gravel and block has been delivered to the basement and block layers build the walls. Completed foundation on June 20. |

| Week of June 24 | Floor Joists, decking and frame is erected. Interior and exterior walls. Ridge beam and trusses. |

| Week of July 1 | Sheathing is placed on roof. Windows and roof on. Interior wall/trusses supports and nailers in place. Utilities marked in. |

| Week of July 8 | Plumber and electrician place utilities. Tearing off of siding began. Insulation tacked up. Coaxial, telephone and speaker wire ran by Bob Evans (Evans Electric Service (740) 689-2561). |

| Week of July 8 (continue) | The unfinished basement. Unfinished workshop at the back of the garage. Needed to panel over insulation so hung panel and old kitchen cupboards on back of garage wall. |

| Week of July 15 | Remaining aluminum siding removed. Jana diligently scrapes off backing for recycling. Dry wall is hanged. Jana painted foundation block with matching siding "cream" yellow. |

| Week of July 22 | Yellow "cream" siding in place. Cream color gutters, downspouts and leaf guard. New workshop is built in back of garage. Shutters installed, porch posts and front door painted new blue color to match shutters. |

| Week of July 29 | Gone on vacation. Backfill pushed into basement to grade. Air-conditioning duct work cut in. Dry wall finished and textured. | |||
| Week of August 5 | Painted walls with paint sprayer. Wallpaper hung in kitchen/dining room. |

| Week of August 12 | Trim boards, molding, baseboard and doors delivered for staining and polyurethane. |
