Summary: A life can change with just a few words
“Welcome home.”
Everything changed in an instant. Voyager had returned to the fold, carrying the triumphant explorers home. What that would mean for the crew, no one could yet fathom. And what it would mean for me was an even greater mystery.
Instinctively I sought his eyes, seeking to borrow his strength and self-assurance. But I saw that his gaze was drawn to another, sharing a connection I didn’t yet understand. There was an intensity between them I could never hope to comprehend.
And then the
other woman spoke, and I knew it was over already.
“Mister Chakotay, the helm.”
