Producer / remixer / programmer JohnElliott has been involved with music production for over 25 years. His musical background began September 1964 growing up in Seymour, Indiana. John saw the Beatles on their first US tour at the Indiana State Fair. Two weeks later he received his first snare drum. After performing in local Nashville punk & new wave groups, John decided to branch out into electronic music production. This led him to work with cutting edge artists Factual, Dessau, Ministry, British producer Martin Hannett & labels BMG, Fifth Column, Mercury & Wax Trax! / TVT. In 1991 John began focusing his productions towards contemporary Christian music. His first sessions were programming with producer Sanchez Harley for both Clifton Davis & gospel legend Albertina Walker. Elliott joined producers Lynn Nichols & Dave Perkins to record their new project Passafist (R.E.X.) The self titled Passafist garnered the group a 1995 Dove Award Nomination for Best Metal Album. Working again with Nichols / Perkins on 1996 Never Say Dinosaur / Petra Tribute brought another 1997 Dove Award Nomination for Special Event of the Year. The song, "Louie's Solo" featured Kevin Max Smith from DC Talk. Elliott's current projects include programming on Tedd T. remixes of Rebecca St. James & Newsboys - Listen Louder (Sparrow); Remixing Cohen Brothers' "Friend of Mine (Columbine)" - Wow 2000 (Sparrow); production for Rick Cua @ EMI Christian Music Publishing; production for new CCM duo AV7 & remix / production for local industrial rockers O.Z. Willis & Dessau |
