Have
you ever said in anguish “Why me?” Why you were picked to endure a certain
trial, or to perform a certain task? “Surely, there is someone more qualified,
more able to do this than me!” You ask yourself, or words of similar meaning,
or you ask GOD why.
Many
others have asked that same question of themselves, or of GOD. For example,
take Moses; when GOD sent him to Pharaoh and all manner of evil things were
done to the children of Israel, Moses asked GOD, “why is it that thou hast sent
me?” (Exodus 5:22)
Another,
Job, also asked of his trials, “Why died I not from the womb? Why did I not
give up the Ghost when I came out of the belly? Why did the knees prevent me?
Or why the breasts that I should suck? For now should I have lain still and
been quiet, I should have slept: then had I been at rest”. (Job 3:11-13) “Why
hast thou set me as a mark against thee, so that I am a burden to myself?” (Job
7:20) Job also asked his friends, “Why do ye persecute me”? (Job 19:22)
“Why
is my pain perpetual, and my wound incurable, which refuseth to be healed?”
(Jeremiah 15:18)
“My
God, my God, why hast thou forsaken me? why art thou so far from helping me,
and from the words of my roaring?” (Psalms 22:1) “Why hast thou forgotten me?”
“Psalms 42:9)
Even
Jesus asked, “My God, my God, why hast thou forsaken me?” (Matthew 27:46; Mark
15:34)
When
finding yourself asking this, ask yourself honestly “Do YOU really trust anyone
else to do this?” Whether it be a trial
to endure or a job to perform, do you know anyone else who could endure or to
do it better than you?
