WCW's women, WWF news
If you could pick one word that would describe WCW's ladies through the eyes of WCW Management, what would it be? No, you perverted reader, not that. "Insubordinate" is what I was going for. Below, I've composed a list [as noted with my bullets] of what the 'gals in WCW have complained about to the WCW higher-up's, all occurring within the last ... week! Liz, at the top of this heap, is absolutely, all-out, telling WCW that she's not going to wrestle, even it if means a bonus. She claims that since she's not trained, she doesn't want to be out there with the 'boys doing something she shouldn't be. With just a bit less complaining, Kimberly follows her proposal up, saying she doesn't want to wrestle either. Ironically, with the actions that have transpired here in the past week [regarding Lex Luger and Elizabeth's heated discussion with Vince Russo], the Liz vs. Kimberly match is off the "Great American Bash" card. Scott Steiner's 'hoochies,' Midajah and Kim Kanner, were asked to wrestle certain dates during the summer, but refused. When asked if they'd be able to wrestle before the summer's end [after training at WCW's Power Plant], the girls simply refused again. Tylene Buck, also known as Major Gunz, was also asked to train at the Power Plant for the next month, but just like most of the other ladies that Officials asked, she, too, turned down the offer. Gunz, unlike most the other ladies, however, said that she'd do it for a "hefty" bonus, only to then be rightfully turned down by WCW. Keep in mind that these ladies [Midajah, Kim, Gunz, etc.] are going to have to watch themselves if they want to keep their jobs; considering that none of them are under a WCW contract, as we speak. Yet another 'hoochie' of Scott Steiner, the gorgeous and redheaded April Hunter, has also added to the problem WCW has going with their women. Hunter has actually been the least-seen newly added lady on WCW TV in the past couple months, as she's been busy with several modeling and fitness shows. This creates a problem in such a way that she can never actual fulfill her WCW scheduled-dates, especially in the next month; where she'll be in and out of many conventions. In the next month, she's canceled 80% of all WCW-related appearances to attend "Martial Arts Spectacular," an MTV Special that honors Jackie Chan. The only ladies that are really cooperating as of late, an oddly bunched group of girls, include the likes of the usual woman-wrestlers [I.E. - Mona, Madusa, etc.], and some new faces. To name two of those 'just-added-to-TV' ladies; Pamela Paulshock [today's 'TWW Babe'] has agreed to go through some special classes to help her broadcasting skills, while the other one is Tygress, who has agreed to go to WCW's Power Plant to help her wrestling skills. It's unknown at this time if she'll put dancing in the Nitro Girls on-hold, but at least she gets to work with her on-air boyfriend, Rey Mysterio Jr., in the midst of all this. Here's that "King of the Ring" note I mentioned I'd have "further down in the Update," courtesy of WWF.com : "...This year's King of the Ring tournament will feature thirty-two wrestlers [31 men and Chyna]..." To further elaborate on that, the tournament will make it's "official" start on Monday at RAW, even though it's technically and respectively already started. What's your idea of a nice Birthday gift ... getting fired from a company you've been with for nearly a decade? That's the situation Lex Luger's in right now, as today, on his 42nd birthday, he's facing termination of contract if WCW Officials decide to do so [although they'd need to compensate Luger for the chunk they'd take out of his deal]. As far as his real-life and on-air girlfriend goes, Miss Elizabeth can be let-go in approximately forty days, when her current 90-day deal ends with the company. If you don't understand that, basically, Liz has been with WCW for several years on a repeating 90-day re-signing contract, whereas this time, it looks like she'll be unemployed in the end. Below, as noted with the coolest double-asterisks you'll ever see, I've got an assortment of WWF related news and notes... ** Steve Austin and Debra will be tieing the knot in mid-July. To prepare for the wonderous occassion [as well as get back into form before he returns to the ring], Austin's lost "ten-to-fifteen" pounds. This is actually good to hear, as he looked very overweight when we last saw him at "Backlash." ** The reason WWF went ahead and brought Kane back so quickly is only because his hand healed much quicker than doctors or even Kane had anticipated. ** Chris Benoit's best friend and former Pro Wrestler, The Dynamite Kid, was unable to make WWF's UK PPV "Insurrextion," despite WWF's promotional advertisements. Dynamite Kid wasn't going to be paid, but was just invited by Benoit to catch up on some old chat, but the trip to the PPV was canceled after the two had a phone-discussion on how they'd get no time to spend with eachother since Chris had to be back in the US that same day. Lastly; who or what could WCW's "Mystery Shocker" be? Since no-one really seems to have a strong grasp on what it might be, I've taken the liberty of, yet again, composing a list. This time, we'll weight out our options and see if we can figure it out... A) By Eric Bischoff saying "...not even Vince McMahon can stop us here," a lot of guesses have been triggered. I've heard several possibilities that have to do with WCW "taking something" from the WWF; in some fashion. I've heard it all so far today, ranging from Shane McMahon to Ken Shamrock to WCW airing a special on UPN. So, we'll have to see. [Note: Ken Shamrock can be swiped from the list of possibilities since it'd be under breech of contract for him to show up in WCW. However, Shane, surprisingly, can actually be the 'Mystery Shocker,' because Shane's not with the WWF under contract; as he just owns a major part of the WWF stock.] B) Shaquille O'Neal? 'Nuff Said... C) David Arquette? 'Nuff Said... D) Could this all just be an on-air ratings ploy on Bischoff's behalf? Some, including Mark Madden, think so... E) On my final educated guess, could it be Rena Mero? Chances are as slim as her waistline, but I guess we'll have to wait and see. Reported by: Jon Farrer BACK |
