Click on the path
tool, and click on the little rectangle under the word shape in the attribute
toolbar at the top. This will open a box with more choices.
Click on "Custom Shape".
|
 |
Browse through the
shapes until you find Wave 1. Double click on it. |
 |
Click and drag in your new image until the
outline is about 1 and a half inches wide.
|
 |
This image shows the
path attribute toolbar with three things that now need to be adjusted.
1. Choose a color
that will compliment the image that you will be framing.
2. Under mode, select
3D round.
3. Adjust the
border so that it looks natural. A ribbon is not very thick.
|
|
Right click on the
shape, and click again on duplicate. Drag this new image off the canvas
into the background so that it opens in its own canvas. Minimize this new
canvas.
|
 |
Click on the transformer
tool, and in the attribute toolbar for the transformer tool, click on this
button. |
 |
Now when you point
to one of the corners of your object, the cursor will change into a curved
arrow. When it has, click and drag your object so that it is more
or less vertical. |
 |
Now, in the
transformer attribute toolbar, click on this button. It is the distort
tool.
|
 |
Position your pointer
over the top right corner, click and drag up and to the right, until your
object resembles this one.
|
 |
Now open the duplicate
ribbon we minimized before. Drag it into your working canvas. |
 |
Now look to the right
side of your transformer attribute toolbar. You will see a button
marked Rotate & flip. Click on it, and then on flip horizontally. |
 |
Drag your duplicate
so that its top is positioned over the bottom of the first ribbon as shown.
Right click and duplicate this second part so that you now have three sections. |
 |
As before, click on
the "Rotate and flip" button and then on flip horizontally. Position
this part as shown. |
 |
Again, in the transform
attribute toolbar, click on the distort tool and click and drag the bottom
left corner up and to the right so that your ribbon trails correctly. |
 |
Now, in your Easy
Palette, click on the button marked here with an arrow. This will
open your layer manager.
The Layer Manager
is an invaluable tool when working with multiple objects, especially when
some of them are small and hard to select by clicking on them in the canvas,
or when some of them are hidden behind another. If you notice, there
is and eye icon above each shape. Clcking this icon will cause that object
to be hidden.
You can select all three
of your sections by clicking on each one in the layer manager while holding
down the Ctrl key. When all three are selected, right click and click
again on group.
Now save your grouped
sections to your easy palette so you will be ready to use it for section
two of this tutorial. |
