Open the graphic you will be using for this
tutorial, and edit it as you wish. You may use any of the other tutorials
for this part. This is now the notecard. Make sure this graphic is not
large, and merge all when you get done. |
 |
Choose a color from the notecard to be your
foreground color. Use the eyedropper tool, and left click on the desired
color.
Open a new canvas, 400 X 400.
Change to the path tool, and right click
the color box in the attribute tool box and click foreground color.
Draw a rectangle on your canvas. |
 |
Now click the rectangle in the attribute
tool bar, and change to the diamond shape.
Draw a diamond of a slightly lighter color,
and try to match the width of the diamond with the width of the rectangle,
so that the points are the same width as the width of the rectangle. Use
the transform tool to make the diamond wider than it is high. The diamond
should be only a little higher than the height of the rectangle when you
are finished re-sizing it.
Arrange the diamond on top of the rectangle
like in this example. |
 |
With the diamond still active,
click on the mask icon in the lower right
hand of your pi screen.
Click the paintbrush, and set the color
to black. Gray amount should be zero. Set the soft edge to zero. Set the
size to 50. Click the options button, and click straight line. |
 |
Click on the lower tip of the diamond, and
square off the bottom so that it looks like this example. When done, click
the mask icon again to turn off mask mode. |
 |
Click on the path tool button, and slide
your cursor over to the little arrow in the corner of the button so the
other tools show. Click the line and arrow tool. Set the color in the attribute
tool bar to the same color you used for the diamond. Check width, and set
it to 1 or 2. Click the arrow button, and make sure line is selected.
|
 |
Starting at a lower corner, click and drag
a line to the squared off point you made on the diamond with the mask tool.
See example.
Now click on the other corner, and mirror
your first line. |
 |
Make the canvas with your image active again.
Make sure it is merged, and right click to copy.
Go back to the canvas with your envelope,
and right click and click paste.
Click the transform tool, and under rotate
by degree, type in 15. Click the counterclockwise button to the left.
You may need to resize the image. It should
look like it would fit in the envelope.
Arrange the image like this: |
 |
Click again on the mask tool, and use the
same settings to paint out the lower left corner of the notecard so that
it looks like the note is sticking out of the envelope.
I changed the shape of my brush to the diagonal
one to do this part. Paint a straight line along the bottom to erase the
bottom of the note too. The finished product will look something like this:
