ZDooM

This is the best and most stable source-port for doom there is, most of the best wads of today require this to run. Get the latest 'unstable' version, NOT 1.22!

EDGE

My favorite doom port, this allows for the adding of totally-new monsters, weapons and items without having to change the old ones, it also has beautiful lighting and a DDF coding system that anyone (except linux-using, C++ coding subhuman scum) can understand!

Doom Legacy

This used to be a good port, but its popularity is sinking due to numerous bugs and a general shaky feel it has. Still, it has a launcher which means if you want to 'just play' old wads from the archive and dont understand how, this will be very useful for you
