What's DB/Z/GT?
Dragon Ball
Dragonball was the beginning of it all. Believe or not the
title was actually going to be Dragon Boy. This
series was based partly on a Chinese Legend about a monkey god
who would live among the humans. There is one show on WB (I
think) that is based on that legend. Its called
Monkey Magic. I actually accidently saw this once
when I was flipping through channels and at first I though that
it was a show copied off of DBZ. In DB it starts off with Bulma
and Gokou meeting (sorta) and teaming up on a quest for the
dragonballs. During the journey they meet up with enemies that
soon become their allies. (Yamucha and Puar, Oolong) and a bit of
rivalry with Kuiririn (Krillin). But they also have greater
enemies that prove a threat even after this series is over.
Dragonball Z
Dragonball Z is the series after Dragonball. Gokou is full
grown and so is everyone else. In the beginning, Gokou finds out
that he has a brother and that he is from outer space. He was
from a race called Saiya-jin. His brother kidnaps his son for a
ransom of dead bodies, the planet, and to join the remaining
Saiya-jins. Gokou chooses to fight his brother and with the help
of Piccolo they were able to defeat him. (Piccolo is actually the
one who kills his brother).
Although his brother was killed,
Gokou had to hold him through Piccolos blast and died in
the process. Piccolo then trained his enemys son for the
battle that will come within one year. (two other Saiya-jins will
come to take over).
Dragonball GT
Dragonball GT is the last series. And if you
might of guessed, the Z group went from kids, adults, and now
they are just a bunch of old geezers. Those who were married had
kids, and now they are all grown up. And Gohan has a teenage
daughter of his own. Gokou comes back from his training with Ubuu
only to find that Pilaf and his henchmen have the dragonballs and
are going to make a wish. Pilaf sees Gokou and gets angry, he
wishes that Gokou was little like he used to be. Gokou is then
turned back into a little boy. Pan, Gokou, and Trunks go on a
search around the universe to find the ultimate dragonballs to
(take a guess) save the planet earth.
