PROJECT PHOENIX:tm DEAD RISING- THE GAME
Here is what I would love to see in a Project Phoenix PC Game if at all possible. Of course, it would probably be up to the programmer/designer in the end since it would be their game with my novel's plot, names, characters, etc., but I believe if it isn't just another run-of-the-mill FPS (First Person Shooter) title and actually was different, it would sell in volumes. (BTW- If anything, even if my license wasn't used and a programmer wanted to make 'another' zombie game without the Project Phoenix title, I say go for it! Many people want to see this made as described below:)
1) Face/character design: Ability to have the player import their own scanned face onto a model's body through a simple interface. (Sort of how Half Life handles spraypaint logos) Also have the ability to choose skin tone, hair color, clothing, etc.
2) Speech to speech over net like Team Fortress Classic 2 is going to be and Delta Force 2. (Still have the text entering part of it, but also if a player has a full-duplex soundcard, the ability to literally talk to each other. Game can make use of a walkie-talkie like thing when far apart, or normal voice (with their mouth moving in seq) while up close. (Can make use of walkie-talkie when out of range, and/or voice in different tones for whisper, normal and shouting modes.
3) Body divided into wound points like in Goldeneye 007 for the N64 and Soldier of Forture on the PC. Also, if you are hit in the arm, the arm is useless, your leg will hampen you so that you have to drag it along. (Can be healed with medpacks?), and visual distortions like in Half Life from stun grenades, etc. Flashbangs to make you blind temporary, etc. And view obscured if you are wounded in eye. (Portion of vision darken, blood in it, etc.) Also, you may appear to others to hold your side if wounded. (i.e. Dino Crisis)
4) View of zombie player will be staggering, where their vision shifts back and forth as if their head is moving back and forth, etc. Will be slow, not fast and weapons will be teeth, arms, etc. (Zombie player may either start out as dead or if a survivor dies, will become zombie and then their task would be to hunt for prey (survivors), etc.)
5) Have large interconnecting levels such as: Person enters into game over net and appears in bunker level below ground in office, while another player 'chooses' or is placed in town above ground. These two players can go to each other if they so wish, even though it may be two different levels entirely. (Players can also communicate with each other through both levels.)
6) Besides walkie-talkies, can communicate with others by shortwave radios, etc. found, as long as the other as the same frequency!
7) Hugh outdoor environments as well as indoor, and have the ability to switch between the two quickly. (If they have to be divided into two levels, make it like Half Life where there is a small load time. Of course, I would like to be able to shoot out windows at times as well.)
8) Hilly, grassy terrian. (Like in Delta Force 2, where you can actually hide in the grass!)
9) Multiplayer support over the Net.
10) Players can choose to be survivors, zombies, or bikers, etc.
11) Multiple weapon selection and realistic ammo/health/item locations. (So that you don't just find ammo lying all over the place unless there was some major battle previously.)
12) Players can turn into zombies if bitten and then attack teammates.
13) Able to operate vehicles.
14) Situations put together like Half Life, where things are happening when you get to certain points, etc. (Multiplayer, things may happen to players who first start game, but those who enter later will see the end result.)
15) Environment can change: Night/Day, Rain/Sun, Ability for buildings to have holes in them, both bullet and major destruction. (i.e. Red Fraction coming out soon)
16) Ability to link maps created by others over net in game. (Linked by going through doors, etc.)
17) A lot of roleplaying, where survivors can turn on each other. (Allow team kills for instance)
18) No real fragfest here, or you will run out of ammo and luck- make aiming guns hard like in Dusk of the Dead, where your stress can alter your aim, etc.)
19) Ability to use tools, and your environment. (Can open containers to find items, can use spotlights, lightswitches, etc.)
