Under the spreading cherry tree
The village Westy stands.......
August 11, 2001 -- Wolfy now has a new heater control valve, and we're finally able to shut off the hot air coming into the cab! The valve was a BEAR to replace! I had plenty of time lying on my back in the driveway to compose the following limerick:
Ode to a Heater Valve
I've dabbled in some things botanical
And other things less puritanical,
But replacing this part
On my run-down old cart
Makes me want to curse all things mechanical!

Here's Wolfy set up at last year's Great Plains Star Party.
Cool.
How many time do you see an 85 VW Van with an Air 403 Wind Turbine beside it?
|
In my neighborhood, the answer to the previous question is, "Twice!" About two miles from my home I came across this 85 Vanagon parked beside a mast supporting an Air 403 Wind Turbine!

Lots of work to be done when we brought Wolfy to his new home.
Check out the restoration page to see the changes in his appearance.

That's me on the left back in 1972 standing next to my good friend, Richard Curtis, outside my (then) home in East Sparta, Ohio.
Behind us, is Richard's Volvo, but, more importantly, please note my cool Type 2 Split on the right!
What a great van. It was my third VW Microbus. |
Here I am in September, 1971, standing beside my 1968 Westy.
It was listed on the title as a VW "House Car"
Here's another shot of my 68 Bay taken in 1971. Oh, yeah... That's our TR-6 --
And while we're on the subject of Triumphs...
Here's another car I wish I'd held on to!
