Grottomon was made from Cherubimon's Earth Spirit. He's the first of the dark hybrids the Chosen encounter. Grottomon is a strong enemy in spite of his seemingly small stature, and he has proven to become an even greater problem when he evolves to Gigasmon using his beast spirit. He even manages to steal Izumi's and Tomoke's spirits of Wind and Ice, respectively. Hope of defeating him seems to have dimmed for the Chosen, but when Takuya gains his own beast spirit, Vritramon, and learns to control it, he manages to beat Gigasmon and take away his spirit. Filled with rage, and desperate to get it back, Grottomon chases them down, but he's eventually defeated when Junpei gets his own beast, Bolgmon.

Arbormon was created using the Spirits of Wood. He's a bit more laid-back than his comrades, but he's still just as powerful. He persues the Chosen many times, usually making things especially tough for them by evolving to Petaldramon. He soon confronts them in the Dark Forest, where he becomes Petaldramon once more, consuming the plentiful trees to grow to a collosal size. It takes a good deal of effort, but the Chosen finally defeat him by combining all of the power their beast spirits can muster. Reverting back to Arbormon, he is then destroyed by Duskmon, who claims that he is now useless without his beast spirit.

Preferring not to get her own hands dirty, she favors sending her scores of adoring fanboys out to do her dirty work instead, which is exactly what she does when she sends a group of Toucanmon out to steal the Chosen's digivices. Later, she traps Izumi in Sefirotmon's body and tries convincing her Honeybeemon lackies to get rid of her. But they instead take a liking to her and Ranamon takes matters into her own hands. Things look grim until Takuya unlcoks the power of the double spirit, evolving to Ardhamon. He defeats Mercuremon, but he has a last trump card; Sefirotmon.
