DARK ALLEYS
Trepidatious Hangout of Poet/Fiction Writer
and Digital Artist
S.L. Robinson

Welcome to the alleys of my soul........

Allow me to introduce myself; I dream, observe, listen, taste, feel, participate, sniff, cry, laugh, scream......and then, I create.

I am a member of Horror Writers Association, Garden State Horror Writers and the Chiaroscuro.  By day, I am a Certified Veterinary Technician in a 24-hour emergency animal hospital.  My husband, Randy, two wolf hybrids, Schultz and Fenris, and I live in a damp, moldy alley in the Pacific Northwest.

Dark Alleys

There exist dark alleys of
the city...the mind...the soul.
Explore any with caution,
ever aware that what lurks
in the shadows might not be
just your imagination.
Who's to say that dark alleys
in the city are different
from those of less tangible,
more ethereal places?
Creatures scavenge, garbage rots,
every step is uncertain.
Every mortal fears dark alleys,
wherever they may be located,
whatever they may be comprised,
whomever may dwell there.
Why they exist is the real question,
the puzzle that plagues.
Do we need adrenaline rushes?
to have our blood run cold?
quick glimpses of evil?
a chance to scream?
Yes.  Yes, we do.
