The man of the family!

Happy Holidays ??

I was looking over our website and realized I didn't tell you about probably the most important part of the family line. In fact, without him, there wouldn't be a family! That would be my husband, Daiv.

I wish everybody could be as lucky as we are; to find your one true love young enough to completely enjoy each other, and yet old (experienced) enough to know how to handle problems without a conflict! We have been married for two years three months and four days today, and with all that has happened in that time, we have yet to have our "first fight". We have had issues that we don't agree on, but we have always seemed to come up with a comprimise. Age really DOES have its advantages!!!

I have been trying to figure out how to describe my husband without sounding, well ... you know, too sappy! I have come to the conclusion it just isn't possible! He is a wonderful man that has a great sense of humor, excellent imagination, a decent sense of fairness. He is considerate of others, and compassionate of their feelings. There are just not enough good things to say about this man! I guess the best "description" I could give is: all of the wonderful qualities and traits that make me love his children, and make me proud to consider them as my own is a direct reflection of their fathers beliefs and virtues!

So, as most of you that know us knows, Daiv is now among the ranks of the retired! The last day of the year was his last official day. It's kind of cool having him home all the time, but the true test to see if he was really ready to retire will be in the next few weeks. Both # 8 and # 9 have been home on Christmas break for his first full week off. It just felt like an extended weekend! Now reality will hit when the kids go off to school and he is staying home.
He has plenty to do to keep himself busy. Lord knows there's enough stuff to go through in the garage to keep hbim busy for a couple months, but I think he'll get bored ith it after the first couple days! His heart's in the right place. He already is showing the strain of only being around me and the kids. Tomarrow he plans on going to the "shop" to see how everyone is doing and b.s. with the guys. I can't really blame him. It's a big adjustment after working 32 + years. He still wakes up early, but he doesn't get up cause he might wake me. So he just lies there for hours until I wake up. If he starts getting anxious, he'll start rubbing or scratching my back. Wakes me up, but there is NO WAY this kid is moving while he's scratching my back!!! I've always said, "My mama raised fools, but they were all boys!" and it's sooo true!!
Let's see, the only other thing going on is the memorial service for Daiv's brother. That doesn't happen till 4:00 this afternoon. We won't get back till after 6 p.m. and then I start dinner. So, the night before their first day back to school, the kids get to attend their uncles funeral, eat dinner late, and go to bed late. How much fun do you think they'll be by the time they get home? How about if I send them to you for a few days!?!
Nothing else going on around here so I'll go. Just wanted to update you on what's happening with us. Email me or sign the guestbook and I'll get back to you as soon as I can!
