Paul walked along the street, head down and hands shoved deep into the pockets of his black leather jacket. He shivered and hunched his shoulders against the icy cold gusts of wind that kept sweeping through and twisting around his lithe body. In his eyes, it seemed that the whole world had it against him.

He turned onto Bourke Street and instantly crashed straight into an old woman who was rounding the corner at the exact same moment. She regained her balance and he bent over to collect her shopping bag which had fallen to the ground. He put a plastic toiletbrush and a box of tissues back into the bag and went to hand it back to her. He was about to apologise for not looking where he was going, but before he had a chance her handbag collided with his head, hard. She briskly commented on what a fucking bastard he was, grabbed the bag from his hand, and clomped off down the path. He frowned and rubbed his head. He already had an almost permanent throbbing headache and being hit over the skull with a rock hard implement didn't help any. With a sigh he continued walking.

After a moment he became aware of a young girl tailing him a few metres away. 'fucking teenybopper fan' he labeled dejectedly, trying to ignore her. He hoped she'd just leave him alone. He couldn't stand being recognised, and this one was obviously obsessed as she was wearing a DAAS T-shirt and clutching BOOK and a marker in her hand. It was pretty clear exactly what she wanted from him.

As he walked through a large crowd he turned with them, joining the pack and then quickly ducking into Sanity, making his way quickly to the opposite end of the store. He hoped she hadn't seen where he went and would just give up. After a few minutes hiding behind the wall near the clothes racks, he glanced around the corner. Not seeing her anywhere, he cautiously stepped out from his refuge and made his way to the alternative section and began flipping through the CD's. He groaned as he felt a tap on his shoulder.

"Listen, fucking leave me alone…" he began but stopped when he turned to see the familiar face smiling mockingly back at him.

"Nice to see you too Paul." Gatesy grinned widely. Paul laughed and his face broke into a smile as he pulled him into a hug. He drew back and looked Gatesy up and down. He hadn't aged a bit since the first time they had met and he looked gorgeous as ever.

"You look good," he commented.

"You look amazing," Gatesy replied huskily, his eyes glinting. He leaned in close, his lips brushing against Paul's ear "And I'd like nothing more than to snog you right here, right now." Paul's breath caught in his throat and he quickly looked up into Gatesy's eyes. Did he mean it or was he just messing with his mind?

"Steven…I…"

"I'll take you home and lick you all over until you're begging for it. We'll make love like dogs gone wild all night long. What do you say Paul?" Paul's lips parted slightly as he felt Gatesy lean into him, their bodies touching ever so lightly. Maybe the whole world wasn't against him after all.

"Hey aren't you Paul McDermott?" a voice asked from nearby. Paul sprang back from Gatesy, blushing madly as he realised where he was. Gatesy grinned, amused that he could still turn the old man on with his teasing dirty talk. Obviously some things never changed. Paul seemed lost for words so Gatesy decided to answer for him.

"Yeah, that's my little Pauly."

"Didn't you sing that Throw Your Arms Around Me song years ago?" she asked, stepping forward and clinging to Paul's arm like a leech. Paul glared at her. Gatesy saw this and decided he'd help his mate out.

"Yes he did, now get your hands off my man and leave him alone!" Gatesy said, camping it up like mad and adding a sensuous pout at the end for effect. He slipped his arm around Paul's waist and stroked his chest with the other hand, shooting her a warning look. She stared at them with wide eyes and walked away without another word.

"What the fuck do you think you're doing!?" Paul asked, shoving Gatesy away from him and glaring at him.

"Hey come on mate, I was just trying to get rid of her for you, honest!" He held up his hands in innocence. Paul sighed and nodded. He knew Gatesy was telling the truth. He knew the pressures of being a celebrity, and he only wanted to help him out of one of those unwanted situations.

"Thanks." Suddenly a wicked grin spread across his face, his left eyebrow curving upward in a silent invitation.

"What?" Gatesy asked as Paul inched closer to him.

"What do you say I take you up on your aforementioned offer?" he suggested in a low voice, running his hand down between their bodies and along the inside of Gatesy's thigh. His eyes ran over Gatesy's body seductively, darkened with desire, but still with a mischievous glint in them. Paul prayed that Gatesy hadn't been joking around before, or else it would be a bit of an awkward situation. This time it was Gatesy's turn to blush. He looked up from where Paul's hand was resting lightly on his chest and a slow smile crept onto his face.

"Oh, I think that could be arranged," he murmured huskily, entwining his fingers with Paul's before leading him out onto the street. He couldn't wait to get his hands on that luscious body.
