Since the Asha face has essentially replaced the 1980's face mold for the Mattel Christie doll, the appeal of African-American fashion dolls has skyrocketed. The Nichelle face is often forgotten, or used only for special editions, or ethnic styled dolls. It is, however, one of the most realistic and sophisticated faces Mattel has to offer, with the fabulously full closed-mouth lips with just a hint of a smile, and cheekbones to die for. The eye mold is not too deep and is also smaller, making her a dream face for repainting. Below is a gallery of photos by various artists of wonderful creations made from Nichelle faced dolls.
