UNLEASHED POWER
Has the scene run out of quality band names? When you've got names like UNLEASHED POWER popping up one has to think so. The band's third release, Absorbed is an abrasive 5-track EP of aggressive U.S. Power Metal. Relatively unknown, the band demonstrate they've got the where-with-all to get fan blood boiling as this is some reasonably potent material. The opening title track is a highly memorable tune that reminds me of latter-day SACRIFICE in both sound and structure. I find this a unique release as about the closest comparison I can make with this band is the aforementioned Candadian foursome. A good dry production and some catchy riffs are the attributes that make this a worthy collector's piece. About the only thing the band might need to improve upon is the lead playing which sounds a bit on the sloppy side. Now that I've sampled the band's competancy, I'd be more than interested in hearing earlier releases and awaiting what this band might offer in the near future. Keep your eyes on UNLEASED POWER!!
