This is from looking at too many listserv messages. 'Sfar as I
can tell,
this isn't a real list -- I hope!!

Welcome to the exciting list LatinFic-L! Following are our rules.
If we
all work together, we can have a fun and educational experience.
1. Please post only Latin Fiction. No discussion or
completely-other-language fiction is allowed. Violators may be
set nopost.
2. Fiction over 10% in a different language must be posted under the
xover:
heading. Only xover: is used. Xover: -- like Xmas -- you
wouldn't spell it
Crossmas, would you? Violators may be set nopost.
3. Follow rules of writing courtesy. If you have not read these
rules, send
an email to the listowner, who will forward a copy to you. Violators
may be
set nopost.
4. Very violent or sex scenes must be preceded by the adult: heading.
Basically, if you mention the Roman Army, put it under the adult: heading.
Violators may be set nopost.
5. Follow accepted guidelines for fiction list posting (line limits,
subjects). If you have not read these guidelines, send an email
to the
listowner, who will forward a copy to you. Violators may be set
nopost.
6. To have your fiction archived at the LatinFic-L website, place a
standard
archiving statement at the beginning of each post. If you do
not know how
to write a standard archiving statement, send an email to the listowner,
who
will forward a copy to you. DO NOT MAIL YOUR FICTION TO THE WEBMASTER!!

7. PERMISSIONS MUST BE SENT ACCOMPANYING THE STORY WHEN WRITING ABOUT
REAL
PEOPLE!!!! Violators may be set nopost.
8. Limit signatures to three lines. We have heard of lists where
listmembers are allowed to have up to six lines in their signatures.
This
is wasteful and unnecessary. Save the excess for the orgy scenes!!
Having
seen this frightening display of babble, we created this rule to save
space
on servers and in mailboxes. For an example of a terrible signature,
see
Kathy Walsh's on the Forever Knight fandom lists. If you have
not seen
Kathy Walsh's signature, send an email to the listowner, who will forward
a
copy to you. The three line limit includes text appended by your
email
provider. If you cannot anticipate the length of your provider's
appendage,
you probably aren't smart enough to write Latin fiction. Remember,
this is
a *three line* limit! Violators may be set nopost.
9. Listmembers are limited to two posts per day on LatinFic-L.
This is the
ABSOLUTE MAXIMUM. It is preferable that you limit yourself to
one post per
day. This is to keep traffic down, as this is a very popular
list.

10. DO NOT SEND LIST COMMANDS TO LatinFic-L!!!!! This is arguably
the most
annoying deed possible on this list. Violators WILL be set nopost
for a
period of no less than three weeks.
