After four years of marriage it was over. Peter Berg said "good bye"
to his wife Elisabeth Rogers last summer. In the separation-papers
the couple gave many reasons what caused the break-up!
Peter Berg who plays Dr.Billy Kronk in the series Chicago Hope
admits that he's not the easiest person to live with.
He would love to tell about his special working routines.
"I write scripts for movies and TV, and I can't get disturbed when
I'm working. I write for hand and take in on small worn out
hotels. There I'm up the whole night waiting for creativity to come
.It's the first thing oi the morning, between 06:00 am and 10:00 am
that I start writing. Then my brain works and I can 'pull' out sides
of myself that go away in the daily stress", he tells the magazine
EW.
CHANGING SEX:
In addition to the writing it's a hard job, ten months in the year
to work on Chicago Hope. There he plays the big-mouthed Dr.Billy
Kronk.
He came into the series as a hockeyplayer who saved another
hockeyplayer's life. His macho-attitude calmed a bit down when he
found out that his sexy girlfriend had been a man, who had changed
sex and who also had been in the same grade with him in Junior High
School ! Dr.Kronk got homophobic - and fell in love with Dr.Grad
(Jayne Brook) instead. Now the two are going to be three in the
TV-series.
In reality things don't go that well for Peter Berg. Four Years of
marriage with the Calvin Klein model Elizabeth Rogers ended up
without children in a painful divorce."It was painful, but now I'm
glad we didn't have any children. In that case we would only be
hurting one another," says Peter Berg, maybe the most handsome doctor
on TV.
GETS SEX-LETTERS:
He knows the 'ER'-compeditor Noah Wyle. They were starring
together in a theatre play called 'The 24th day' where they played
two gay men.
"Busloads of Japanese students came to sees us. They had no idea what
the play was about", Peter recalls.
Both of them get loads of fan-mail from anxious female fans - from
Norway, too.
What do the girls write most about? - "That they want to have sex
with me", Peter tells the magazine 'Cosmopolitan'.
Now that you are divorced, do you take any advantage of these
offers?- "The opportunity to have uncommitted sex with a lot of women
is something you enjoy less than in your younger years - you should
think! I'm rather looking for a woman that I can have a nice and
stable relationship with."
In Norway Chicago Hope is more popular than in the US. What's the
reason?- " 'ER' airs after 'Seinfeld' which is the most watched of
all TV-series in the US. The network draws so many viewers that they
could have shown a video of my dog sleeping and still keep half of
the audience", Peter Berg claims.
RAW MOVIE:
His last job before Hollywood called was as a crewman on a fishing
boat. He has also worked as a pizza delivery boy and as a stow (?) on
the harbour in Long Beach. Now he's loaded with work: with filming,
writing - and with Chicago Hope.
'Entertainment Weekly' has just nominated him to be one of the most
creative people because he's more than just a good actor with a
pretty face.
This fall will be the premiere of 'Very Bad Things'. That movie is
twisted and raw, everything else looks like Mary Poppins compared to
it, 'EW' says. Berg has written the script and directed the
movie.
He had a big part in the movie 'Copland' and he wrote the script to
the movie 'Furious George' himself, in which he acts with his buddy
Micheal 'Batman' Keaton. But the big breakthrough came as
Dr.Kronk.
How did you get the part on Chicago Hope?-"I was asked by the
producer David E. Kelley to show up at the auditions. Since he's
married to Michelle Pfeiffer I thought it was a great opportunity to
get to meet her", Peter jokes. He was chosen for the part among 800
other candidates !
He also unveils a secret about the gang that makes Chicago Hope in an
interview with an American internet-magazine: "The actors here are as
lifeful as few others. It goes in high waves in the studio.Often with
awesome arguing! We are many strong personalities, and that is not
always as easy."
Do you like working on Chicago Hope, and are you freinds with any of
the other actors/actresses in the show ?- "Let me put it like this:
yes and no !"
