In Short: A patient with no signs of breast cancer opts
for a double mastectomy because she tested positive for the breast
cancer gene. Drs. Kronk and Grad clash over the treatment of the
woman, who has a history of breast cancer in her family and opts for
the radical surgery even though she is cancer free. At the same time,
an unidentified woman is brought into the E.R. beaten beyond
recognition, and Dr. Nyland, sympathizing with her plight and
determined to discover her identity forces Dr. Wilkes to operate to
save her life. Meanwhile, Dr. Austin, having regained custody of her
daughter Sarah, tries to overcompensate by forcing the 9 year-old
girl into an exclusive private school the little girl doesn't want to
attend.
