Mandy Patinkin Battles Throat Problems For Broadway Role
LOS ANGELES (UltimateTV.com) - Mandy Patinkin has been spending his time, in between occasional "Chicago Hope" guest shots, doing his first love--theater. But while preparing for the much talked about "Wild Party," set to debut in New York April 13, Patinkin suffered throat problems and temporarily dropped out of rehearsals.
Now, The New York Times reports, Patinkin is recovering nicely and likely to return to rehearsals early next week without jeapordizing the play's premiere.
Patinkin Resumes on "Chicago Hope"Mandy Patinkin will step up his role on CBS's "Chicago Hope" next season as the series gets a face lift from David E. Kelley ("The Practice," "Ally McBeal" ), who will pen new episodes of the doc drama next year. Patinkin will also play a big role in the upcoming season finale of the show when he fires a number of doctors, conveniently clearing the slate of the regulars leaving the show. Among those departing the series are Emmy winner Chritine Lahti, Jayne Brook, Vondie Curtis-Hall, Stacy Edwards, Eric Stoltz and Peter Berg.
