Royal
Ulster Constabulary, Northern Ireland, UK Royal Ulster Constabulary
(RUC) was the police force in Northern Ireland from 1922 to 2001.
It was replaced by the current
national police agency, the Police Service of Northern Ireland (PSNI) in
2001.
The word Ulster is the name
of 1 of the 4 traditional provinces of Ireland, and is often used to refer
to all of Northern Ireland. Northen Ireland is part of the United Kingdom.
