Special Rules:

Aquila: Sanchez is =}{= Julianus' pilot and can fly almost any kind of spacecraft or shuttle. She must never pass any tests to find out how to handle such a craft. Abroad vessels she has the Lightning Reflexes ability and automatically passes all difficult terrain tests. Abroad Julianus' Gun Cutter she can activate the external audio speakers and make them play ancient music from Terra (called... Hard Rock I think...). If she does so, her Gun Cutter counts as Terrifying.

Tank-Killer: Sanchez is not only a great pilot, she is a good heavy weapons specialist as well. She knows exactly how to hit an armoured vehicle or vessel to do most damage to it. When shooting at any kind of vehicle, Sanchez can add or subtract an additional 20% to or from her hit location roll.

Ramira Sanches hails from the Deathworld of Catachan, the worst jungle-hell in the Imperium. Like many sons and daughters of this planet, she was orphaned from an early age. Her parents were killed during a jungle pox epidemic when she was four years old.

Ramira was the eldest of four children and had to bring up her younger brother and two sisters alone. She made her living out of working in a local shuttle bay. Her salary was far from being enough to support the remains of her family.

One day, when a shuttle pilot suffered from jungle fever and could not transport an urgent package of antidotes from an orbital station to a far-away village, seventeen-year-old Ramira was to do this job as the only one in the bay to have at least some flight experience.

Sanchez accomplished her task better and faster than anyone had expected and saved hundreds of lives in the village. Thus she got a job as a shuttle pilot. Her salary was now enough to make a living out of it. For the first time in her life, Ramira was optimistic a bit.

Only a few months after that, her brother and sisters were killed in a Grox stampede in their village. Having lost all that was important to her, Ramira laid down her job in the shuttle bay. She tried to kill herself, but all attempts to do so failed due to plain dumb luck.

Gabriel Green, one of her best friends in the village, tried to get her back to life, as far as life on Catachan can be called so. Finally he made her join the Guard to give her at least some foothold and moral stability.

Sanchez proved to be an excellent pilot and was thus assigned landing ship pilot of the 38th Catachan Daredevils. Her past on Catachan still haunted her however.

It was during the disastrous Oiho landings that she re-gained another bit of life. Her landing craft was shot down by Ork flak emplacements over an abandoned settlement. After having downed the shuttle rather harshly in the settlement, she and 4 men of squad three were to collect company equipment from the shuttle. Under a piece of burned metal she found a strange device containing a round disk with a label on it saying 'Compact Disk'. When she pressed one of the buttons on it, some horrifying, yet familiar, music woke from a pair of loudspeakers near the device.

This music remembered Ramira of an ancient style of music to be heard in distant settlements on Catachan. There it was called 'Hard Rock' and played by a few old men. Jack Migger, one of the Catachans assigned to help her, recognized this as well, and they decided to take the device with them.

After days of marching through the jungle back to imperial lines, Migger, Sanchez and three other guys from squad three set up a band and played this new form of ancient Catachan 'Hard Rock' in the officer's mess on several occasions. They had great success and were loved by the entire regiment.

Ramira was lucky for the first time in her life. But only two weeks later after their discovery, Sgt. Migger and his entire squad were eradicated in an Ork counter-attack. It took Sanchez long to recover from this blow, but after a long period of time she could get back to 'normal' life. She still keeps the arcaeotech music device with her.

981.M.41 Ramira was to drop the 2nd Catachan led by Inquisitor Julianus and 'Ironfist' Straken onto Mica III. The campaign against Tyranid infiltrators was mainly successful, but on one occasion, imperial forces had to retreat from a massive Tyranid counter-attack. Sanchez' Shuttle was landed on a clearing inside the jungle of Mica, when she was contacted by Julianus to prepare immediate take-off. A few seconds later, julianus and his retinue charged out of the jungle, running like crazy, closely followed by a massive Tyranid beast.as she could not employ the shuttle's cannons on close range, she took a missile launcher from under her pilot's seat and ran to the boarding ramp. Shouting "Down!", Ramira aimed and fired a high-explosive rocket into the Tyranid. It burst apart in as shatter storm of chitinous hide and Tyranid blood. Julianus, getting up from the mud (slightly dirty of course) and more than impressed by the pilot's action immediately employed her as his Gun Cutter pilot.

Julianus was one of the young Inquisitors just having got his own shuttle and being in need of a good pilot at that time. Obviously he got the best woman for the job he could get. She was assigned the Glossia code 'Aquila'

In Julianus' retinue, Ramira saw her best friend on Catachan again, Gabriel Green. He was now the Inquisitor's radio officer. In the following years their friendship intensified.

Another blow was to hit Sanchez soon. 985.M.41 Julianus was to investigate the reappearance of the free trader ship ‘Regina Caelorum’ from an interstellar nebula in the Aranis sector. A strange energetic lifeform had taken over control of all computers and machines of the Starship and created cyborgs with the mortal remains of crew and a navy security team. The soldiers from the security team had given their lives to turn off the main reactor in order to deactivate the computers. Julianus and his retinue re-activated the generator, not knowing about the electric life form onboard, and soon found themselves in serious trouble.

Gabriel Green was critically wounded in close combat with a three-metre-tall cyborg. Julianus trailed him back to the Gun Cutter, closely followed by a horde of mindless cyborg-zombies. Another heroic missile launcher action saved Julianus and Gabriel.

Julianus ordered to destroy the Regina Caelorum.

Gabriel slowly recovered abroad the Marius, an imperial battle cruiser. Gabriel Green owed Julianus his life. He saw in this an opportunity to return the favour to his saviour, mentor and friend, and voluntarily reported to the tech priest as basis for a Praetorian servitor.

Gabriel Green, Catachan Sergeant and brother-in-arms to Julianus, was upgraded to a Praetorian Servitor and called Marcus 6243. He now serves in Julianus’ retinue again. Two implanted assault cannons make him a great help for the High Inquisitor, when problems are a bit more troublesome than expected…

On Aranis, it was Ramira's turn to save the day again. Julianus and his retinue were in a hasty leave from a cultist temple, after Julianus had rescued the Governor's daughter from the Cult of Inferno. He and his retinue had to dig in on a landing pad at the edge of a deep canyon, hard-pressed by hundreds of angry cultists.

Ramira made her Gun Cutter rise over the edge of the canyon, behind the dug-in Inquisitor, the external vox-devices roaring from Catachan Hard Rock...

The Assault-cannons on the side sponsons spun up, mowed down dozens of cultists and bought Julianus and his retinue enough time to board the Cutter.

Ramira Sanchez has always been a great help for Julianus ever since: especially during Julianus' time in the Cooperative…
