Cabin From Hell

Email:dookkie@aol.com

This encounter didn't happen to me, it happened to one of my friends, he hasn't been the same since. One night, last winter, my friend Matt, his friend Ryan, and two girls, were sharing a cabin for the weekend. On their final night of staying there, two strange things happened to them. Around six PM, my friend Matt, was sitting on the couch with Ryan, suddenly, they heard a four knocks on the door so they got up and opened the door, there was no one there. When they sat back down, another four knocks were given to the door, when the went to check it, again, no one there. The figured it was a kid trying to play a joke on them. A minute later, they heard the four knocks again on the door, they ignored it. Then they heard four knocks on the side of the cabin, then four on the back, then four on the other side, then four on the front. They figured that he was walking around the house knocking on the sides. Then the knocks started to get faster, so they figured that he was running around the cabin. After a while, they started to get faster and faster until it sounded like one steady knock, Matt was so freaked out that the only word he could think to utter was "thank you", and then the noises stopped.

That same night when everyone was trying to sleep, one of the girls, Debbie, looked up at the ceiling and saw a face grinning back at her. She figured that her eyes were playing tricks on her so she rolled back over. After a minute or so, she rolled over again and saw the face traveling down her ceiling, she was scared so she rolled over again. About a minute or so later, she rolled over for the last time and saw the face connected to a body standing in front of her bed. Before she knew it, she was thrown through the air and, sleeping bag and all, out her window. Her screams were so loud that the other campers heard her and caught her half way through the window, they couldn't pull her in until her sleeping bag came loose and was dragged down the hill and out of sight. The next day, the cops found the sleeping bag a mile away, torn to shreds.

College Ghost

Here's another ghost story. I hope you will consider it for your site. It happened to me in 1991 and I have never forgotten it.

When I was in my first year at college, a lot of the students tended to overdo everything due to their new-found freedom. They did everything to excess. A girl I knew used to attend a karate class with a boy who drank himself to death. His liver or kidney's failed due to the amount of alcohol he consumed in the first term.

A friend and I were trying to comfort the girl in her room on campus. The girl had no experience of death and was very confused. Even though we did not know the boy who had died, we tried to console her and encouraged her to talk about her feelings before leaving campus for home.

Upon leaving the campus, me and my friend crossed onto a field, which was a short cut home. It was a clear moonlit night and from the corner of my eye, I saw someone running behind us. I only saw the legs and the upper body and I turned because I thought we had left something like a purse or watch on campus and someone was bringing it to us. When I turned around, there was no-one there.

I whispered to my friend if she had seen the same thing. She whispered back that she had and identified the same clothes I had seen: courdroy trousers and a t-shirt. My friend insisted that we should not look back and keep walking. I felt an icy chill throughout my body, and wondered if we were going to be physically attacked or mugged.

To my surprise a figured appeared. I know it sounds silly but it glowed white, (like phosphorous: I found myself thinking of "The Hound of the Baskervilles"). Iit seemed to be a boy/young man. I could not make out a face. I thought it was a joke, as it stood and stared at us but then it ran around us as we proceeded up a leafy hill, and the steps made no sound on the ground or in the leaves. We tried to walk away but it then raced beside us and past us, at great speed as if showing off. It then ran round us again and again, faster and faster. It seemed to be skipping or at least joking around with athletic leaps and kicks in the air.

I did not know what to do but my friend insisted we keep walking and avoid looking at it. I could only see it at the corner of my eye but my friend could see it straight on. I wanted to speak to it even though I was afraid, because I was so amazed by its antics, but my friend insisted that we kept on walking up hill, so we did and it followed.

When my friend and I had walked past a certain point and the ghost could not follow. Indeed, the higher up hill we went the more sluggish it became. I thought this was very strange. It was as if it could only follow a set path - a popular spot for student joggers. It finally vanished behind some bushes.

My friend and I crossed this field many times after, but we never saw the apparition again. I am convinced it was the ghost of the dead boy, since the sighting occurred only days after his death, but I will never know

I have a very interesting story that happened to my best friend liz. They got the computer Ouija board, and it works by allowing the mouse to move on its own. Well her boyfriend was a non-believer and laughed at the whole thing. Pretty soon spirits began to haunt the house. These spirits would shake my best friend until she woke up, and they would trash the whole house. Apparitions were seen by everyone in the house. Her boyfriend saw what appeared to be a spirit with a flickering flame in it's core. Her mother saw herself in a mirror aging slowly until she was just a rotting skeleton, her father saw a women in red warning him about the evil spirits in the house. The scariest things always happened to my best friend. She would see a burned black man with no eyes. This man would follow her around. One day she was in the car with her brother and her boyfriend. They had parked the car by a park. Liz turned and saw the black man under a tree, then she looked straight ahead and saw a tunnel. Something told her to go towards the tunnel so she got out of the car and began to walk toward the tunnel. In the tunnel she saw her fathers body; he was dead and covered with mud. Liz reached out to touch her father when a little boy appeared at her side and told her not to touch the body. The little boy said, "That's not your daddy, that's the evil burnt man, he wants to take yoou with him." Then the little boy led her back to the car. When liz looked in the car she saw her body sitting there and her brother and boyfriend shaking her and telling her to wake up!!!! The little boy told her to go back into her body, and to leave the house as soon as possible. Liz went back into her body and told her brother and boyfriend what she had seen. Two weeks later they moved out. When she was telling me this story a bottle on my dresser flew straight across the room, and she doesn't talk about the story anymore. I have more stories which I'll send in later on. If you have any questions or comment email me.

I was telling you a little about my Aunt's haunted house in my email. Like I said, she lives in a 100+ year old house that is in a little town called Camden County North Carolina. From the time her and my uncle moved in, they heard different things. Crashing sounds, moans, music playing, and loud stomps running up and down her stair case and they often would wake up in the middle of the night to the smell of different things like coffee, ham, and collards. She's told me story after story about this ghost(s) that resides there. Below are a few stories for now.

When they first moved into their house about 3:00 am they started hearing loud noises. My aunt sat straight up in bed scared to death. She said "she just didn't feel right about something". My uncle used to yell at her to stop making all the noise so late. After she convinced him to listen closely and stop blaming her, he'd realize that she wasn't hearing things. A few nights passed and it was the same thing every night. "BOOM BOOM BOOM BOOM" up and down the steps. It would last about an hour. It was like the ghost was trying to get them out of the house. She said she finally yelled out, "STOP MAKING SO MUCH DAMN NOISE!" The noise stopped and they went to sleep. Keep in mind, my aunt is a funny lady with a great sense of humor. I told her she was nuts for staying there. The first night would have been enough for me! LOL!

Apparently the ghost has a sense of humor too. After a few months passed and I suppose he realized they weren't going anywhere, he started coming out and making his presence known more often. She'd be in the kitchen cooking and she'd feel as though someone was looking at her. When she'd turn around to see what it was, she'd see something dart behind the refrigerator. After awhile it became a game to her and this ghost. She started seeing him more and more. Night time and day time, it didn't matter. It wasn't everyday, but pretty often. She started seeing his whole body and not just his head and shoulders. She stated that she saw what appeared to be a young confederate soldier that was shot in the stomach. She thinks the house they live in must have been his house before he went off to the war. The different voices they hear must be his family in the kitchen cooking and listening to "fiddle" music as they would have done back then.

I hope you find this an interesting story. I have so much more to share if you are interested. I've told this story to a lot of people and no one seems to believe me. There are about 15 people that believe, and they are my family members that have all had the experience of sleeping there over night. Needless to say, my dad and my three brothers all say "NEVER AGAIN"! Me, I was a big old chicken! There's no way in this world that you'd ever catch me staying there!! LOL!

Hi Jennifer
I have a story for you. I live in Portland, Oregon. I have lived in this house all my life with my Mom and brothers. Over the years we have had many strange things happen. I remember we used to have a big tree inour yard close to the house. My Mom did not like it because it blocked all the sunlight, so she asked a friend to cut it down. That was in 1974. There about anyway. That is when everything started happening. We had tile counter tops. We would go to bed and my Mom could hear someone or something dropping silverware on the counter. She would come to check and there would be nothing. She would go bck to bed and then my brothers would come running into her room scare. My Mom would ask them what was wrong. They would say Mom, we heard someone bouncing a ball against the wall so my Mom would once go check and nothing. This would go on almost every night. I can remember coming from school when no one was there. I would watch T.V. in the livingroom. Back then they still had the 16 oz. bottles of pop. I had one sitting on the table about five inches away from the edge. The dog was on the floor next to the table. All of the sudden then dog jumped up and took off. In that instant the pop bottle slid off and fell right when the dog was lying. Somehow she knew when the ghost was present. Well, that all for now. If you would like to share a story with, email me. I like to hear stories too.
