Hana Valiant and the Hana Valiant characters (Nute, Matty, Zen, Su-Li, Tiang, Ali Captorfeld, General Skeletus, Iglsaius) and universe are the creation of Bart Walls. The Space Rovers -- "A Valiant Effort" The scene opens on a far away planet, a violent world where the dark forces of evil are always at odds with the forces of good. The champion of good in this medievel looking world is a young lady named Hana Valiant. She and her travel companions roam the planet defending the innocent. On this day, something very strange happans as the group is moving toward the next villiage. ZEN (looking at Hana): It is much further, Hana? HANA (smirks): Y'know, you asked me that five minutes ago ZEN (sadly); Sorry, but it seems like we've been on this road forever! TIANG (nods): Longer that forever if you ask me! NUTE (points): Look! In the sky! MATTY (looks up): A shooting star! HANA (shakes head): I'm not so sure guys, shooting stars usually streak across the sky. ZEN (nods): Hana's right! This star seems to be coming... TOWARDS US!! TIANG (shouts): WE HAVE TO HIDE!!! MATTY (points): Hide? From that? Yeah, right! NUTE (turns to her): What can we do, Hana? HANA (calmly): I suggest we find somewhere safe to shelter ourselves! SU-LI (points): How about that cave over there? ZEN (concerned): Hmmmmm. That may not be safe... As the object comes closer and closer, a noise like a sonic boom is heard in the air TIANG (frightened): Forget safe, I'm going to the cave! SU-LI (nods): Me too! MATTY (nods): I'm with you guys! HANA (shouts): Hurry! NUTE (running): Wait for me!! The six adventurers rush into the cave, peering outside to see where the mysterious object would land. To their complete surprise, the now visible object suddenly slows down, then makes a soft landing a few hundred yards from the mouth of the cave. NUTE (scratches head): What sort of strange meteor is this? HANA (shakes head): That's no meteor, Nute! MATTY (turns to Hana): Is it an evil device from Ali Captorfeld? HANA (nods): It's possible ZEN (points): Look at the strange markings it has SU-LI (shocked): I've never seen anything like it before! HANA (concerned): Nor have I... The six suddenly jump backward when the 'object' opens it's side door. It is the shuttlecraft DogStar from the Canius Minor. It continues to spew out smoke from it's lower engines as Whitey, Shamansta, Poncho and Bob walk out of it. MATTY (points): What matter of beings are these? ZEN (angry): They must be General Skeletus's troops! Let's attack them now! HANA (shakes head): Wait a moment, Zen. I'm not so certain that these are evil beings SU-LI (angry): They must be evil! Three have the heads of dogs and the other the face of a serpant! HANA (quietly): Shhhhhhh! Let's watch them for a moment... At the shuttle... WHITEY (sternly); As I feared, the collision we had with that meteor damaged our external engines PONCHO (nods): Si, but we can repair it, right? WHITEY (nods): Correct. But the engines must cool down first before I reconfigure them. SHAMANSTA (looks around); This is a beautiful world! Is it inhabited? BOB (looks at portable scanner): Yes, there are several humanoid species here CACTUS JAKE (peeking out the door): So, how soon can we take off, Whitey? WHITEY (sternly): It will take some time before I can.... CACTUS JAKE (hops out): YIPEE!!!!! I wanted to stretch my tired old legs anyway! WHTEY (turns to Cactus Jake): This is a science mission, not a joyride! How is Kenai? CACTUS JAKE (smiles): Don't you fret none, Commander! Doctor Sheena's treating that burn she got on her arm WHITEY (nods): I see... BOB (looking at scanner): Commander, there are six humanoid life forms due east of us.... and there are twenty unindentified life forms closing in on us from the west! (points): LOOK!!! An army of skeleton warriors rushes up to the group, swords drawn. One of the warriors approaches Whitey. SKELETON (gruff voice): You there! Who are you? What business do you have in this kingdom? WHITEY (sternly): I am Commander Whitey of the Space Rover vessel Canius Minor. This is my crew and we had to land our shuttle here for repairs... SKELETON (angry): YOU LIE!!! You are enemies of Ali Captorfeld! You and your 'crew' are now our prisoners! CACTUS JAKE (tips hat): That's not being very neighborly there, friend... SKELETON (angry): I am no friend of yours, I assure you! Surrender now or be killed! BOB (shakes head): We don't take orders from walking bone piles! SKELETON (angry): FORWARD!! ATTACK THE STRANGE ONES!!! Three jump at Whitey, he ducks and then changes their swords into cardboard swords. Cactus Jake instantly freezes the ones that rush him. Bob punches several of them so hard they break apart. Poncho morphs into a huge bull and charges a group of them, busting them into pieces. Three chase Shamansta, she waves her arms and instantly throws fireballs at them. The ones with the paper swords escape while the rest of the battlion has been wiped out. ZEN (shocked): These strange ones fight well! NUTE (points): Their style of fighting is a bit odd HANA (smiles): Well, they're definately not evil, otherwise why would Skelutus's troops be fighting them? SU-LI (nods): True... TIANG (looks at Hana): Shall we give'm a hand? HANA (points): Looks like they already have them beaten! CACTUS JAKE (growls): Looks like the natives around here aren't too friendly! BOB (nods): Those bony guys sure could use some manners... SHAMANSTA (giggles): And some skin! WHITEY (points): I thought I saw something moving over there! BOB (looks at scanner): There are six humanoids huddled in that cave! PONCHO (morphs back to normal): Great! More unfriendlies to fight! WHITEY (shakes head): I do not believe these beings are hostile.. Whitey slowly walks over to the cave entrance, Hana and her group are still hidden from view. WHITEY (shouts): Hello? We mean you no harm... HANA (stands up): I knew it! You furry creatures are not evil! WHITEY (sternly): I am Commander Whitey of the ... ZEN (stands up): We know all about you! SU-LI (stands up): We overheard you speaking to the skeletons NUTE (stands up): And oversaw you guys beat the tar out of them! MATTY (stands up): Yeah! Your crew sure know how to do battle! TIANG (stands up): Do all of you possess magical powers? HANA (points): Er.. Commander, I am Hana Valiant, and this is Zen, Su-Li, Nute, Matty and Tiang! WHITEY (smiles): Pleased to meet all of you, come and meet my crew! As Hana and her friends meet all of the DogStar crew, the scene shifts to a very eire looking castle in the distance. It's one of Ali Captorfeld's fortresses. He is there with his adviser Iglsarius, soon General Skeletus joins them. SKELETUS (anxious): My Lord Captorfeld, there are strangers in the kingdom CAPTORFELD (angry): Strangers? So why is that my concern? SKELETUS (shouts): Because they nearly destroyed an entire battlion of my warriors! They are furry beings with super strength and strange powers.. CAPTORFELD (nods): Interesting, I could use people like that in MY army! IGLSARIUS (nods): Yes, but how to we persuade them to join us? CAPTORFELD (evil grin): Leave that to me... The scene returns to the shuttlecraft, Nute is sitting eating some of the Rover's emergency rations as the others talk. WHITEY (nods): I see, so in this world, Ali Captorfeld rules with an iron hand, and you and your comrades are fightings aginst him, correct? HANA (nods); That's right, commander BOB (sternly): But all of you seem so young for such a task... SU-LI (upset): Who says we're too young! MATTY (defensive): YEAH! TAING (stands up): You've never seen us in action! ZEN (nods): Isn't that right, Nute? NUTE (mouth full of food): MMMMM HMMMMMMMM! MATTY (upset): Will you quit stuffing your face and ... Suddenly, a huge black streak of smoke appears in the sky, it forms a large arrow pointing in an easterly direction. NUTE (stands up and points): Strange writing in the sky! HANA (nods): I see it, Nute ZEN (confused): What can it mean? WHITEY (turns to Jake): Lt Jake, scan the region in the direction of that arrow! HANA (points): Cactus, what is that object you are holding? CACTUS JAKE (smiles); It's a portable scanner, lets me detect areas far away for .... (looks at it): COMMANDER!!!!! I'm detecting a battle taking place in a village five miles from here in the direction of the arrow! NUTE (shocked): That metal thing told you all that? MATTY (doubting): What kind of trickery is this? WHITEY (sternly); I assure you, Miss Matty, this is no deception.. ZEN (looks at Hana): If what Cactus says is true, it must be Skeletus! HANA (nods); We must stop them! SHAMANSTA (stands up): We will help you! MATTY (sarcastic): You furry strangers help us? Why? WHITEY (sternly); As Space Rovers, we are pledged to assist those who are in danger. KENAI (climbs out of the shuttle): The doc says I'm alright! Let's go! WHITEY (nods): Very well, (shouts); Dr Sheena, you will stay with the shuttle, the rest of us will assist these brave young warriors to liberate the village.. NUTE (anxious): We must hurry! If we leave now, we can be there in an hour.. WHITEY (sternly): Not neccessary, Lt Commander Bob will teleport us there in seconds SU-LI (confused): Teleport? CACTUS JAKE (happy): Y'all gonna love this! We all stand together and Bob does the rest! Trust me! HANA (nods); Alright, Commander, we'll try it your way! C'mon everyone, stand together! The two groups stand next to each other as Bob closes his eyes, soon, all of them are glowing and are instantly teleported to the middle of the village. There they find skeleton warriors all around, attacking people and wrecking their homes. Hana draws her sword and jumps into action. Matty 'copies' herself ten timees and joins Hana. Nute, Su-Li, Zen and Tiang soon jump in. WHITEY (nods): We stall assist them! PONCHO (nods): Si, got you covered! Poncho morphs into a ten foot tall iron plated knight and walks towards them. Whitey uses his powers to 'make' swords and shields for the other Space Rovers, Cactus Jake, Kenai, Shamansta and Bob grab them and then rush the skeleton soldiers. SKELETON #1 (points): It's the strangers! SKELETON #2 (points): Not again! Before any of the Space Rovers can act, a huge energy 'bubble' encircles them and lifts them off the ground. HANA (looks over): HEY!! ZEN (points): They have Whitey and the Space Rovers! SU-LI (shouts): We have to help them! When Hana and her group runs towards the bubble, they are soon encased in their own energy bubble and lifted off the ground as well. ZEN (shocked): Oh man, I don't like this at all! Iglsaius walks through the skeleton troops towards the now captured groups. IGLSAIUS (laughing): Lord Captorfeld was right! These magical sphere traps work perfectly! Now, we not only have Hana's gang of rebels, but the strange fury creatures as well! WHITEY (sternly): We must free ourselves! Poncho morphs into several different creatures, but cannot get thru the sphere. Shamansta attempts to use her magic, but nothing she tries works. Cactus Jake tries to freeze the wall of the sphere, but it's no use. Kenai karate kicks the walls to no avail. CACTUS JAKE (angry); We're stuck like flies to flypaper! IGLSAIUS (laughs): Resistance is futile! BOB (screams): NO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Bob's body suddenly glows, then he teleports himself out of the sphere and into the street below. IGLSAIUS (points); So, you have managed to escape! What are you against so many of us? BOB (furious): WATCH AND SEE!!! Bob's body glows once more, and within seconds he grows into his full sized brontosaurus form. IGLSAIUS (scared, points upward): A MONSTER!!! A DRAGON!!! WE MUST FLEE!!! BOB (booming voice): Free my friends or I'll stomp you flatter than a pancake! IGLSAIUS (furious): NEVER!!! Bob proceeds to step the troop of skeleton troops. He swings his mighty tail to smash another platoon. The shaking ground so terrifies Iglsaius that he loses his concentration and the two spheres vanish. Bob rushes after him, but the extra dust he 'kicks' up allows the villian to escape. The scene now shifts back to the shuttle, several hours later, where Hana and her friends are saying goodbye to the Space Rovers. HANA (smiles); Goodbye everyone, we'll never forget you! KENAI (nods): Nor will we forget our visit here! WHITEY (looks inside): Are we ready to depart, Lt Jake? CACTUS JAKE (shouts): Yes sir! Ready and rarin' to go! SU-LI (looks at Bob): How did you change into that creature and then back again? Magic? BOB (smiles): No, it's just one of my abilities HANA (smiles): Good luck on your journey home SHAMANSTA (nods): And good luck on yours also, Hana Valiant! The Space Rovers wave to Hana, Nute, Su-Li, Tiang, Matty and Zen as they board the shuttlecraft. Soon, the vessel takes off, hovers, and then disappears into the sky. -------------------------------------------------------------
