The Space Rovers -- "One Moment in Time -- Part 1" It is a quiet evening in the Louisiana Bayou. At the home of Amos Doggie, we find Amos asleep in his hammock while Hannah is fast asleep in her warm, cozy bed. Suddenly, Hannah wakes up, as if startled out of slumber by a bad dream. She immediately runs over and dumps her husband out of his hammock, he tumbles to the floor. AMOS (shouts): WOMAN!! WHAT GIT INTO YA?? DIS BE NIGHT! HANNAH (sternly): Amos! The keeper of the Dora just spoke to me! The Master is in danger! We must hurry to Mission Control at once! AMOS (confused): You be talkin' too fast fer dis old swamp dog.... HANNAH (takes Amos by the hand): There's no time to lose! Suddenly, Hannah and Amos teleport away. Meanwhile, Alethia and Star are up late with the Master in the briefing room. MASTER (happy): I want to thank you both for staying late to assist me in testing this new communications console. ALETHIA (smiles): Glad to help, Master! STAR (nods): Yeah! I'm almost ready to plug it into the main system! MASTER (looks at Alethia): I also want to thank you for all of your help with Tungstun. I know you've been working very closely with him, he'll make a fine Road Rover! ALETHIA (nods); Thank you, Master. He seems to have bonded with me. STAR (nods): That's right, after all, you was the first person that ever showed him kindness or compassion ALETHIA (smiles): Yes, deep down inside, he is a very kind and warmhearted man STAR (whispers): Do you have a crush on him? ALETHIA (defensive); ME? A crush on HIM? (laughs); Don't be silly Star.. STAR (smiles): Hey, I was only asking... MASTER (puts wrench down): There! At last we're ready to test the...... the...... the....... Alethia and Star watch in horror as the Master falls to the floor, he seems to be 'fading out' as he lays there. Before they can react, Hannah and Amos Doggie appear beside him. HANNAH (shouts): Amos! Help me! Duplicate the spell I'm about to cast... HURRY!!! Hannah waves her arms and suddenly, the Master begins to fade back 'in', Amos waves his arms and now the Master is 'back' to normal. The two magical canines remain focused on the Master. ALETHIA (shocked): Hannah! Amos??? STAR (surprised): What's going on here? HANNAH (sternly): Something terrible has happaned! The keeper of the Dora spoke to me in my dreams and .. STAR (confused): The who? ALETHIA (nods): Oh, the enitity that gave you and Amos your powers, right? HANNAH (nods): Yes, he told me that General Parvo had gone back in time and killed the Master! STAR (shocked); OH NO!! ALETHIA (shocked): NOT THE MASTER!! HANNAH (nods): It's true, that's why he is fading out of existance. The spell that Amos and I are using will keep him in this plane of reality, but it's a spell that is physically draining. We can't maintain this forever! STAR (turns to Alethia): The only Rovers with a working time machine are the Space Rovers! ALETHIA (nods): Good idea, I'll call them on the subspace frequency, you call every magic practicing Rover you can find, Hannah and Amos are going to need help. As Star nods and turns to the communication console, the scene shifts to the bridge of the Canius Minor. Persia is in the captain's chair, Alexander and Bob are seated by her side. Saundra and Boomer are at the helm controls, Whitey at the Science Station, Grunt at the weapon's console and Bruno at the communications station. Cactus Jake is at his station. PERSIA (turns to Bruno): Ensign, monitor the emergency Earth channels. BRUNO (surprised, but nods): Aye aye, Captain! ALEXANDER (turns to Persia): Are you expecting a call from Earth, Captain? PERSIA (grins): I am, old man. Trust me. BRUNO (turns to Persia); Captain! Message on the emergency Rover channel, we are being ordered to return to Earth immediately! PERSIA (under her breath); Right on time (louder): Whitey, go to Engineering! Take Daisy and Flash with you! Cactus Jake, prepare to activate the artificial wormhole generator in two minutes! BOB (turns to Persia): Captain? What's going on? PERSIA (smiles): This is the most important mission of our lives! BOB (confused): Captain? How do you know... CACTUS JAKE (nods); Whitey and the others are in position, Captain! Ready to open the wormhole! BRUNO (turns to Persia): Molly is calling for you, Captain! PERSIA (sighs); On screen MOLLY (on screen): Captain! Vhy are we doing dis now? (turns, shouts): Daisy! Flash! You bloodhounds stay avay from my warp engines! PERSIA (sternly): Emergency call from Earth and I called for Daisy and Flash to assist us with the wormhole generator! Get ready for activation! Persia out! CACTUS JAKE (nods): All systems ready, ma'am! PERSIA (sits back in chair): Ok, let's go to Earth! The scene switches back to Mission Control. Catman and the DixeCats have joined Star and Alethia in the briefing room. With a loud BOOM!!! Otto and Samantha Maddog appear in their Road Rover uniforms. CATMAN (turns to Star): Where are the other Rovers? STAR (points): Colleen, Hunter, Shag, Blitz, Exile and Muzzle are in the infirmary. They are all suffering from an unknown sickness... PROFESSOR HUBERT (walks out into the room): It's not an unknown condition anymore. Hannah is right, time is somehow beginning to be altered. Keeping the Master in this plane of existance helps, but the time ripples are already beginning to affect the original Rovers. If we don't change the past soon, not only will the Master fade away, but the entire Road Rover organization may not exist at all... OTTO (sternly): Thanks to Hannah, I have an exact time and physical location of Parvo's crime. It occurred four years ago, at a time when there were only the six original Rovers. They were all away on a mission at the moment of the Master's death. ALETHIA (nods): That makes sense, Parvo would strike when the base was empty. As Tungstun walks into the briefing room, Persia, Alexander, Grunt, Daisy, Flash, Whitey, Cactus Jake, Numbia, Poncho and Bob teleport down. ALETHIA (excited): Persia! Good to see you but I wish.... PERSIA (interrupts); Thanks, but time is critical. I've saved time by reading your mind... STAR (points); Look! Hannah and Amos are beginning to stagger, the energy of the spell keeping the Master in 'existence' has taken it's toll on them. Catman and Porthos quickly take their places beside of the Master and maintain the spell. CATMAN (smiles); Good Porthos! You've copied the spell perfectly! (turns to the other DixieCats): Watch closely, you'll have to be ready for relieve us soon! FELICIA (dreamily): Anything you say, handsome! KATRINA (nods): I'll do ANYTHING for you, Catman! CATMAN (sternly): No time for socializing here, ladies. This spell must be maintained on the Master, or time will instantly change! PERSIA (looks at the others): We have a challenge to face, we must send a team back in time to save the Master without further altering the time line. I have read Otto's mind, and I believe I have a solution. We'll send two groups of Rovers in our time machine, one to stop Parvo and the other as a backup group in case anything goes wrong. The first team needs to resemble the original Rovers so the Master of the past will not be alarmed. Cactus Jake looks like Hunter and Samantha is a dead ringer for Colleen. Otto can use his holographic projector to simulate Exile, and .... Numbia and Poncho nod and morph instantly to look like Shag and Blitz. PERSIA (nods); Excellent! (turns to Daisy): Daisy, Flash, Whitey and Bob. Build a device that will maintain the Master in this existence. This will help take the load off of Catman and the others. ALETHIA (concerned): Alright Persia, what about the second team? PERSIA (nods): That's where you, Star, Grunt, Tungstun and myself will.... ALEXANDER (shocked): You're going on this mission, Captain? PERSIA (nods): I must do this, old man, trust me.... TUNGSTUN (nods): We must save the Master! GRUNT (nods): GRRRRRRRRRRRRR GROWL!!! CACTUS JAKE (nods); Time's a wastin, folks! OTTO (nods): I concur! Suddenly, the Space Rovers saucer shaped time machine appears in the motor pool area. Persia leads her teams to it. Persia watches carefully as Grunt, Alethia, Tungstun, Otto, Samantha, Poncho, Numbia, Cactus Jake and Star enter it. They all notice that Fydo is piloting the craft. PERSIA (sternly): Set this machine for November 9th, 1996, one day BEFORE Parvo arrived. The place, in the motor pool of Road Rover Mission Control! FYDO (nods): Aye aye, Captain! (shouts): Did you get all that, VAM? V.A.M. (female voice); This is the voice activated module, call me VAM, I have received the instructions of Captain Persia, awaiting further orders, darling! OTTO (shocked); Darling? ALETHIA (shocked): Darling? TUNGSTUN (surprised); Huh? FYDO (embarrassed): Er... it's a long story.... Proceed VAM!! VAM (female voice): Affirmative, Lt Commander Fydo.... time travel initiated! Within seconds, the time machine has disappeared. The scene now switches back to the briefing room, in the PRESENT. HUBERT (looks at the others); How can we possibly build a time halting device? DAISY (happy); That's simple, dad! FLASH (nods): Yep, it's a piece of cake! WHITEY (sternly): It will require several specialized parts. It will need a Barium core, with a ... BOB (nods): Yes! I can see it in my mind! WHITEY (looks around): I will create the required components using my matter altering powers, the rest of you work out the symatics. This will not be the 'piece of cake' you claim it will be. PATCH (turns to Thomas): When Catman and Porthos begin to tire, we'll go next to maintain the spell. THOMAS (turns to Alexander); Are there any other magical Rovers we can call upon to help us? ALEXANDER (nods): Yes! (taps comm badge): Bruno, beam Cadet Shamansta and Lt Calypso to this location immediately! Alexander out! Suddenly, a female red terrier mix cano-sapien appears behind Alexander and startles him. RUPEE (happy): I see you've called for my daughter to come! Excellent! ALEXANDER (shocked); Rupee? What are you doing here? RUPEE (smiles): Someone called for me telepathicly. I believe it was your Captain... ALEXANDER (nods): We need all the help we can get to .... RUPEE (interrupts): I am aware of the situation, Commander. Our magical powers must buy time for your science team to invent something to keep the Master in this plane of reality ALEXANDER (surprised): You DO know what's going on! RUPEE (nods): Of course! The timeline is being altered, I could feel it in me bones! ALEXANDER (watches Daisy and the others); I wonder how Persia and their team are doing.... The scene is now the Road Rover Motor Pool, on November 9th, 1996. The time machine appears in the far side of the motor pool. PERSIA (turns to Fydo): You stay here with the time machine and keep it invisible. The rest of you follow me. Persia leads the others out of the side hatch of the time machine. PERSIA (sternly); Ok, the five of you that look like the original Rovers go to the briefing room and tell the Master everything. The rest of us will stay here and .... Suddenly, laser fire reigns down on all ten Road Rovers. The group is soon surrounded by Cano-Mutants wearing gas masks. General Parvo emerges and shouts, "NOW!" as canisters of sleep gas fall at the Rover's feet. Soon, all ten Rovers are motionless, lying on the floor. Groomer joins him. PARVO (laughs): Looks I outsmarted you again, mutts! GROOMER (nods); Oh General! You're so brilliant! And SO HANDSOME!! PARVO (nods): Thank you, Groomer! I traveled back in time alone the first time to kill the Master. But I knew the Rovers would attempt a rescue and ... GROOMER (happy): And that's why we traveled back in time again the day before with an army of mutants! PARVO (nods): That's right! (turns to the mutants): Tie the Rovers up over there, in that dark portion of the room! We all must stay hidden until I arrive from the future tommorrow and shoot the Master! Watching all of this from the Space Rover's invisible time machine is Fydo. FYDO (shocked): Oh dear!
