It is meant for ENTERTAINMENT PRUPOSES ONLY and NOT MEANT TO BE TAKEN TOO SERIOUSLY. It represents a struggle of the mind. The Dinosaur Chronicles PROLOGUE Out in the endless void known as cyberspace roams a dinosaur, but not just ANY dinosaur, a Computer Dinosaur! One who thinks that WWW is a pro wrestling organization! How does this Jurrasic kind of guy live in today's world, read on and find out! Entry # 1087 ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- At last, the big day was here! The day that nearly everyone in the entire county was waiting for, the day of the HUGE double wedding of Wanna Talk and Nathan Lovejoy, and Samantha Maddog and Otto! The wedding took place at Ben Maddog's vast estate in Atlanta! He took care of all the arrangements! Prairie Mason pitched in as well, he insisted on it! He and Prairie Rose had grown quite fond of Wanna Talk, and the feeling was mutual! Since her own parents were no longer living, Prairie Mason and his wife were the closest thing she had to a Mom and Dad. It was not surprising when Wanna asked Prairie Mason to "give the bride away" which was an honor to the canine lawyer! The entire courtyard of the estate was decorated with festive wedding decorations, Samantha's sisters took care of that. Poor Samantha had to endure a lot of teasing from her older sisters, being asked questions like "does your boyfriend run on batteries?" and "can your mad scientist friend build ME a husband, too?" It was all taken in stride, Samantha was in love! The "grooms" were very nervous. I thought it was strange that Nathan would be so jittery since he's been through this ceremony before, but he was still a little scared. Otto was also, although it didn't show until he started pacing back and forth, at lightning speed! Finally Nathan said,"Otto, heel!" and that stopped the super speedy German Shepard instantly. "You two, please calm down!" I said sternly,"Is my bow-tie on straight, y'all?" "Yes," Nathan said softly. "Actually," Otto interrupted,"your bow-tie is one centimeter off balance." "Why are you two so nervous?" I asked,"I'm never been a best man before, and I'm the best man for BOTH of you!" "I wouldn't have it any other way!" Nathan said proudly,"You're my best friend in the world, big guy!" "I concur completely!" Otto exclaimed,"You're like a brother to me, dinosaur!" "Ok, the music will begin any minute, remember what we did at the rehearsal, OK?" I said with confidence. All of our friends were in attendance, Ben Maddog insisted that anyone who wanted to come to the wedding was welcome there! The bridemaids were all ready! The Computer Counsellor was ravishing in her yellow bridemaid's gown, and all four of Samantha's sisters were bridemaids, too! The Mason "children" served as flower girls and ringbearers. In the crowd was all of our friends from back home, Lady Smithers and her family, Judge Blanche Vito and Sheriff Wyatt Burp! Uncle Buford was there, as were Xeren Zzoom and the Computer Gila Monster, who for the first time in his life, wore a suit instead of his black leather jacket! "I look like a big green geek," he kept muttering to himself. Others came too, even Earl and Burl, our local "sanatation engineers" as they liked to call themselves. I looked up and was surprised to see my old college friend Robin Mallory and her husband perched on a telephone line near where I was standing! "Hi Robin!" I exclaimed as I waved to the two birds,"Is this your husband Joe?" "That's right!" Robin chirped,"we came to see the wedding! Had to see you as the Best Man! Can't stay very long, though, most be returning to BirdWorld soon." "Why don't you come and visit us sometime?" Joe asked,"I know Robin's dad and our children would LOVE to meet you!" "Sure I'll come see y'all" I agreed,"I only wish y'all could stay longer." The wedding ceremony proceeded without incident, the music played and everything went just as it did in rehearsal! Wanna's 'mother' (Prairie Rose ) cried throughout the wedding, as did many in attendance. I must admit this wedding was so breathtaking and beautiful that I almost cried, but I held back for fear of drowning the entire wedding party! All was going smoothly, until the minister got to the part where he said,"If anyone can show just cause that these ...." and that's when it happened. A loud shriek was heard in the sky and I could hear a hauntingly familiar flapping of wings! I couldn't believe my eyes! The entire crowd looked upward and saw Romulas and Remus, those two hot-headed pteradactyles, diving toward us! "DIVE BOMB!!" they squawked as they flew towards the brides and grooms. Otto instantly turned on his force field and this caused the two troublemakers to 'bounce' off and land in the nearby lake. At first the Gila Monster was so upset, he reached for a folding chair to bop them with, but the sight of their 'splashdown' was so hillarious, the Gila Monster dropped the chair and laughed uncontrollably! The entire audience burst out in laughter also! Even the minister couldn't continue he was laughing so hard! I tried not to laugh, but I couldn't resist! This made Romulas and Remus very, very upset! Finally, they got up and flew away in a huff! They were sure lucky that the Gila Monster was rolling over laughing all the time they were there, or there would've been trouble! In fact, Xeren had to dump a bucket of water on the Gila to finally get him to stop laughing! After the "flight" of the 'dingbats', the wedding continued and the minister pronounced the two couples man and wife! Otto and Samantha quietly kissed, but Wanna shouted "HOORAY, WE DID IT!" as she grabbed Nathan and kissed him so hard he fell backwards! "That was quite a greeting!" he said with a smile as the crowd laughed out loud again! The reception was sensational! The finest buffet meal I've ever seen before! I must admit I really "pigged out" on salad and fresh vegetables! I was pleasantly surprised at how well mannered the Gila Monster was! He pulled chairs out for the ladies, didn't belch once and even ate with utensils for a change! Everyone was having a great time! After the dinner, the wedding presents were opened, and I must admit the two happy newlyweds did well! They got the usual array of gifts, waffle irons, toasters, dishes, etc. until Uncle Buford stepped forward to make his presentation. "Samantha, my dear," he said happily,"I have a gift I know you will find very useful!" Uncle Buford handed Samantha a very pretty wrapped package that she quickly opened. "Thank you!" she barked,"this is the most beautiful collar I've ever seen!" "This is a very special collar, my dear!" Uncle Buford explained,"this collar has advanced microcircuitry and will allow you to have many of the same abilities that your husband has! Although it won't allow you to shoot laser beams out of your eyes, it will let you have transporter, invisibility and force field capabilities! I'll let Otto train you on the proper use of this gift, now you'll be able to fight crime and injustice together!" Samantha was in tears as she hugged Uncle Buford,"this is the greatest present anyone has ever given me, thank you!" "Now, for you, Wanna!" Uncle Buford continued,"I did some research and chose to give you this!" Wanna looked around and saw nothing until Uncle Buford produced a black box out of his coat and pressed the button. BOOM!!! Instantly appearing before her and the crowd was a beautiful, white horse! Wanna was so happy, she hugged Buford, lifting him briefly off the ground! "This is no ordinary horse, Wanna and Nathan, her name is Starlight, and I'll let her explain the rest to you!" Starlight spoke and said,"I'm so happy to be yours, Wanna Talk. I downloaded your biographical files and I know that as a child you always wanted a horse, but your family couldn't afford one. Up until my accident, I was a racing horse, raised in a Kentucky stable. But one day, I was caught in a stable fire and couldn't escape! I was badly burned and my owner was about to have me destroyed when Mr Buford showed up! He and his robotic dog got me to his lab. he repaired and rebuilt me, much the same way the Otto prototype was constructed. After several months of training and exercise, I was ready to become YOUR horse, ma'am! That's all I ever wanted to be was a "normal" horse owned by kind people, and now my dream has come true, too!" "Starlight has all the "features" that Otto has, in case you ever need them!" Uncle Buford said,"in fact, her top speed is slightly above Otto's!" "I'll have to race you sometime," Otto calmly told the horse. "Ok, but maybe later!" Starlight replied. The two newlywed couples were very happy and were ready to start the reception's "first dance" when Uncle Buford motioned and announced that he wasn't quite done yet. Uncle Buford walked toward me and said,"now I have a very special surprise for you, my large reptile friend! There is someone who has been wanting to meet you in person face to face for a long time, and I don't think she should be kept waiting any longer!" He pushed the button on his black box once more and BOOM! There she was, standing in front of me with a huge grin orn her face. "It's Dree-'el!" shouted Xeren. "That's really her!" the Gila Monster screamed,"she looks exactly like that mural the big guy painted!" I was so stunned I couldn't open my mouth or say a word! "Dinosaur!" Nathan shouted,"don't just stand there, say something!" "Something!" I said nervously. Dree'el giggled and said,"you're so funny! I've wanted to meet the famous Computer Dinosaur for a long time, sorry I ran away that day in the woods, but I was so scared and so happy to be out of that cage...... I mean, thank you for saving my life......... I mean, you're very handsome....... want to go for a walk?" "WOW!" I shouted with glee,"I'd LOVE to! Y'all don't mind if I ......" "Not at all, big guy!" Nathan said, "go ahead!" "C.D." Ben Maddog said," Why don't you take Dree-'el for a walk in the peach orchard straight ahead, it's quiet, peaceful and very relaxing!' "Thank you, sir!" I told Ben as Dree-'el and I walked toward the grove of trees. That is indeed one day in my life I'll never forget! Dree-'el and I had a long pleasant talk! We agreed to start seeing each other, after all, she and I may be the last of the Baerasauruses, so it was a good idea to get to know each other better. Wanna and Nathan went on their honeymoon to the islands, and even took Starlight with them! Otto and Samantha chose to return to Myrtle Beach, the place where they first fell in love, for their honeymoon spot! This has been a very interesting year for me, I went from living in exile to watching dear friends of mine making their dreams come true right before my eyes! It has been a year to remember, and who knows, perhaps someday I'll find true happiness. The future holds many mysteries, I can finally say Io'm truly looking forward to it!
