Quantity of plants tested: 1
Size of plant tested: unrooted sucker received from a good friend Robert Pitman in August 2001.
Soil texture: sandy loam with 1" peastone mulch surface.
When planted: the plant was planted in the ground in August 2001.
Winter protection: a poly roof protected the plant from late November through nearly March.
Microclimate: Planted in a warm microclimate, 4 feet off a south facing wall.
Temperature: refer to 2001-2004 winter on this chart
Findings: no damage after two winters.
