trichocereus_tercheckii_2003_mar8r.jpg (70929 bytes) March 8, 2003 - DEAD!  The low temperature at this cactus was only -1F.  Even though the cactus was protected against precipitation in winter, the cold was just too much.  This cactus seemed pretty hardy, but really could not take long duration cold when the temperatures failed to exceed 32F.  Our town recorded 50 days which did not exceed 32F this winter.  Two days had a high temperature of 12F.
