December 25, 2045.
Dear Anastasius Foch,
They awoke to darkness and weightlessness. Unable to see anything, including their had before their faces.
A presence. Each felt a presence. Then a woman's voice. She said 'Wake up.' Each came to consciousness with varying thoughts from 'Where are we,' to 'Shit. I'm a corporate experiment.' She continued to probe at each until all were awake. Shark and Kid Stealth were the first to awake to a darkened room, through which they could only see because of theri IR lights built into the cyber-eyes that each had. Both hung upside down, suspended from chains afixed to their ankles. Polymer planks were streached across their backs and they could not move their fingers. Both initiated a swinging pattern by hauling their weight around to see what else was in the room. They saw seven others, not counting each other or themselves.
Spydr and Zona were the next two awake. Spydr saw both Shark and Kid hanging from the ceiling, as well as Zig and Zag in similar predicaments. Looking over she saw Zona tied up like she was. hung by the wrists, and shackled at the feet. She looked down to see Kazure (now in the body of a teenage negro boy) and Nicholi hog tied on the ground. Off on the side was Gator, crumpled up in a ball on the floor. To many, none of this is evident because they have no nightvision, and the room is utterly devoid of lighting.
About then, everyone with cybernetic optic readouts discovers that the date is August 28th. Nearly a whole week since they had the displeasure of listening to Ash Winters answer the phone. Each, then realized that they could not remember what had gone on during the intervening days, or what they had done to get into such a shitty situation.
Shark performs a sphinctor check to see if he was in prison. Kid Stealth had broken his polymer bar, and that then set Shark out to break his which he did a second or two later. This left both of them with large polymer bars sticking out from their wrists, down their arms. It also let both of them look at their hands, which they discovered were encased in a polymer blobs which made their hands look like mittens. Shark then announced that he was awake, and asks those to announce if they are too. Everyone answered except Gator.
After this brief bit of action, Kenna's voice returned to each of them and spoke to them. She said that they could not try to escape the way they did last time because they killed a guard. Going on, she said that they would be visited in half an hour and they should be gone by then. Last, she reminded Shark of the Bio-Wand that I had installed in Kid Stealth's leg. Shark then said 'Thankyou Kenna.'
As the message was ending, Zig broke the polymer bar at his back, while Zag kept at it. Shark and Kid set about shattering the polymer mittens that held them and Kazure crawled over to Nicholi to untie him. Spydr used the time to observe things around the room. Blood stained the necks and faces of everyone in the room, particularly around their necks. The men in the room also sported about a weeks worth of facial growth.
Five minutes later, Shark and Kid each had a hand free, as well as Nicholi being untied. Less than a minute later, each was on his feet having cut out the other hand with their claws. Shark checked Gator's body and found him to be dead three to four days. Kid Stealth had cut loose Nicholi, Kazure, and Spydr. Kid then helped cut down both Zig and Zag, while Shark cut down Zona. She latched onto him, and sniffled back tears which he could see she had been crying from the clean paths down the blood on her neck.
Zona recounted to me the horror of those few days. Nothing she said, in her entire life compared to the utter terror she felt at being in a room where she listened to others scream and moan, and grunt as they were beaten and drained. Unsure of what was happening or even being able to see a point of refrence produced an insane amount of fear, that was only exceeded by the knowledge it would be her turn in a minute. The dread and fear were replaced by terror as the unnamed man pressed himself to her, then forced her head to the side as it bit at her neck and drank her blood. The ripping and tearing, then the bleeding were unequaled in the fright they produced. She could not even scream, because it kept her mouth pressed shut in its claws. Holding Shark was some small release from the terror and the darkness which had been her life the last several days.
Everyone else gathered around and watch as Shark and Kid Stealth remove the wand from Kid's leg and promptly charged it somehow. The small LEDs give a small glow to the room, and if nothing else a point of refrence. Spydr and Kid begin to examine the room for a way out, after she tells Shark that his Gold Star, which Melissa gave him is radiating radio emissions.
Spydr and Kid had been checking out the room and eventually used the chains that the four had been hanging from to get up to a ledge. The top of the ledge had a crank for raising and lowering a platform. Using this, everyone got up to the ledge by oh-eight oh-eight hundred hours.
With scarcely fifteen minutes until the guards were to arrive, everyone left the lift station and proceeded out into the dark beyond. Shark and Kid opened the door at the top of the lift station. Outside was a hallway that stretched as far as their night vision would allow them to see. On either side of hall were racks and rack of file cabinets. All appeared to be burned, and contained nothing of use. Since the darkness was complete, everyone paird up so that those with nightvision would lead those without. The exception being Spydr, she dashed off ahead in silence to act as scout. Kazure tagged along behind Zig, Nicholi behind Zag, and Zona of course, behind Shark.
Nicholi's world ended without out warning. Kid Stealth slammed his head against the edge of a file cabinet and cracked it like an egg. He then tore him into little bits and stuffed the bloody bits of Nicholi into the afforementioned cabinet.
After two right turns at consecutive intersections, the group heard the guards proceed by, and then exclaim that the Prisoners had gotten away.
The chase that followed led them through the halls of burned out file cabinets, and up elevator shafts. Kazure had manifested the power to enter electrical appliances and used this to control the elevators to speed their escape.
It was during this chase that Zona informed Shark that one of the six Halloweeners that didn't have AB- blood, had old dead blood cells.
Their traveling had shown that there were two sunken sky scrapers, not just one that they were trapped in. The floors were sunk beneath ground level, by two hundred floors, and the side by side towers were connected at each floor by a mile long tunnel. When they discovered that these two sky scrapers were seperated by a mile tunnel, they began to doubt their sanity; because no one in their right mind would do that. Why not just build them side by side?!?
Back to the story. Spydr and Kid Stealth had crossed to the far scraper while everyone else had stayed back to search for evidence of where they were. Shark and Zona's group were moving up as the elevator began to jerk. Their elevator cable snapped, with Shark being the last one out and barely escaping. This deposited them on the thirty-seventh floor and on the opposite scraper of Kid and Spydr.
By Kid and Spydr, their persuers were climbing up the ladder from below. Kid Stealth began tossing out file cabinets at them, which worked for a while. When their persuer transformed into a four limbed animal, and began to run up the ladder, they got worried. When the file cabinets started to fail, they ran. Shark and Zona's group was also running, with another team of the four legged monsters chasing them. They did the mile in record time, and arrived just as Kid was engaging his beast with his retractable claws. Kid Stealth and Shark faced down the two beasts as everyone else backed into a dead end (aptly named.)
Thankfully, Shark had the Bio-Wand, and was able to use it to good effect. He turned both beasts into oozing slimy blobs of goo. Sadly Shark's left arm was crippled in the fight. Spydr had heard someone coming up the elevator that she and Kid had been at during the fight, and prepared to ambush them as Shark was destroying the last beast.
A Halloweener stepped out of the elevator wearing combat armor and carrying an assault rifle. She stripped his weapon and pressed it to the Weener's head. He was unresponsive but had a radio, and was quickly dispatched. Spydr engeged in some snappy little repitore with the voice on the other end, before it says, 'My pets like to chase.'
True to its word, a chase does ensue. It leaves them in the nineteenth floor stadium theater fighting off a horde of zombies and the fearsome four legged beasts. At the Alomo, Shark, Kid Stealth and Zag use the captured pistol and assault rifle from the Weener to hold off the wave of beasts. Spydr crawls out to recover more ammo during the heat of the firefight as everyone's count is running low.
Finally with the end of the rush in sight, Kid and Shark take the offensive. Kid takes a round in the chest, but both continue to push the offensive. Out in the hall, Kid sees a evil looking fellow all in black and chases him but looses him around a corner.
Once everyone gets back out in the hall after Kid checked to make sure it was clear, they started up the elevator shaft. Shark saw Gator behind him then. It weirded him out, Gator had been left for dead back at the first room. Shark and Zig were the only two down there when Gator showed up. As Gator grabbed Shark's throat and squeezed hard enough that Shark turned on his internal oxygen, he looked over his shoulder. Shark bashed in Gator's face with the rifle, and then saw that Zig was gone. A full burst from the autorifle liquified Gator, and then he continued to fire at where Zig was. Before he could do more, he was thrown to the far wall of the hallway. He was unable to see his attacker, and only by Spydr and Kid destracting it is Shark able to get out alive.
During the fight, Zag, Zona, and Kazure continue to climb and make it to the twelfth floor. This separation puts them seven floors above the other three, who by now just managed to get away from the invisible attacker. Zag heard four legged hoof beats and stops to fight it. Zona and Kazure continued up the stairs and eventually get separated. Not long after this, Zona is captured by the thing behind it all. Zag dies as the thing steps on his head, and then continues up the stairs for Kazure.
Only Spydr, Shark and Kid getting up to the twelfth floor entice it to turn around. The giant four legged beast was in sight of Kazure, who had written off resubscribing to life. As the beast bounds down the stairs, the three rushing up make a stand and face it. The beast was summarily blown to bits.
When Shark, Spydr and Kid catch up with Kazure the voice over the radio says, 'Missing something? Come to floor 221.' This sends Shark into a frenzy, and only Spydr's use of the bio-wand to stun him, kept him from charging down there in a mad rush. She and Kid continue down there after Kid drops his body off in the sunlight. Kazure also takes out Shark's gold star and uses it to signal the approaching black helicopter.
You know what happens from here on in, so I will cut to the quick. Outside the Gray Labs, wherein is the Egyptian vampire Armuthis, Team 202 is preparing to enter. Kid is also there weilding the dyna gatling laser; Spydr too is there to retrieve Kenna, and I am in back. Shark had been brought to the helicopter where Blue Duck was up to his usual antics. Melissa in back gave Shark a large dose of painkiller and combat drugs. Shark shows up in the nick of time after quick roping down the elevator shaft. Kazure is also there to defuse the bomb.
Deacon passed out the above instructions, as well as directing Shark to grab Rosa. As the door goes down and Team 202 fight the zombies and four legged beasts, Shark grabs Zona, and Spydr, Kenna. Both are dragged out of the room as Patterson and Solo obliterate the beasts. Gypsy used a device to summon the Egyptian back into the room where Solidifiers gave his Mist Form physical substance. That was waht Patterson and Solo needed. Both resorted to old fashioned handguns to end it's miserable existance.
Nothing remaind then but to ride off into the sunset on teh Black Helicopter.
