November 10, 2045.
Dear Anastasius Foch,
Where last we left off the crew had just decided to go to Berlin to catch Mike. Going along would be Sharkman, Kid Stealth, Half-Pint, Gator, Spydr, Zona, Lak, and Kazure. They would meet shortly before noon, as the Space Center has no lines and is the model of efficiency.
This decided they all leave the Web and go about preparing. Half-Pint and Gator return to their own bolt-holes and prepare weapons and gear for the mission. Lak goes with Shark and Kid Stealth back to the Compound where I instructed them to get my personal gear, and hide it. They then prepared to demolish the building, and left as the blaze lit up the nieghborhood. Both also spread word around in our semi-standard decpetion plan to make people think I am around when I am not.
Zona and Spydr go to the hospital because Zig called to say that Mo was conscious. Spydr was eager to see him and Zona kept thinking about a neural induction helmet, and ways to solve his problem.
Inside his room they found him in good spirits except for him being in an obviously loosing argument with Zig over getting a new Deck. They also found the previously spartan and white room decorated. Usually they are both keen appreciators of interior decorating but this was something else altogther. Naughty, and amorous pictures of them, singlely and in pairs decorated the walls in various levels of undress. Zona chuckled, Spydr just shook her head as usual, and Mo struggled to hide the condition of his member.
Both knew it was time to tell him about his new condition as it was obvious that the doctors and Zig had not. Spydr sat down and gently took Mo's hand. She tried to explain that he would be unable to use a Cyber-Deck. Mo dismissed it as a temporary thing. He'd Deck again, he had to, he was Moriarty. Obviously he was in a state of denial, and Zona set out to convince him so that he might move on to the next stage in healing. She said, 'Mo you will never deck again. That part of your brain is broken and scar tissue has grown over it.' Spydr's mouth hung open at the display of zero compassion, and Mo broke down in tears. Zona thought, yup, he has reached the next stage of healing. Hurt and dispair.
Mo expressed his desire to be along for a while. Zig set up sensors by the window, then stepped outside the door where he would keep watch. Spydr and Zona, said their good bye's and Spydr kissed him once on the head for luck, and then they both left. Outside, Zona had her first cigarette in four years to Spydr's astonishment. Spydr and Zona then set out togther to accomplish what they needed to before the noon flight. They rode togther as both could accomplish what they needed to in the needed time and it was all basically on the way.
Spydr stopped at Baelfire's to get her suit, clean it, and pay for the upcoming surgery for the Hyper-Vision she planned on getting. Afterwards, Zona said to go to her apartment. But when Zona started giving directions that are different than what Spydr knew she was curious. So she followed them and ended up in the burbs by a considerable margin. She was not mad, but very curious, about why Zona a normally reserved and cautious person would be walking into what looks like a derm-house. Being curious, she followed and saw Zona digging around for some clothes. While Zona is digging, Spydr does some of her own, and turned up a hidden panel with a small automatic pistol and some drugs. Then hearing Zona coming she quickly put the cover back on. Zona walked out in a tight skin suit bearing subdued labels and insignia of Mars Corporation. Spydr does not say much, but watches as Zona goes over to the wall panel she was just at, and removes the gun. Leaving the drugs, Zona puts the pistol in her belt and grabs her bag. When all is in hand, she throws on her normal jacket and states that she is ready to go.
During the drive to the Space Center Spyder asked Zona many questions on th recent changes she had seemingly undergone. Zona explained that how she acted before really was not hear but that she was just the same person inside. She remembered from before the rescue, and details about her old life, she had just chosen to live while ignoring them. Zona assured her that it did not change where she was or where she wanted to go. Spydr also found out that Zona had been to all seven continents, the moon, and Mars.
At the Space center, everyone boarded the plane after arriving in a staggered order. Zona was seated next to Shark who had deciphered the insignia on her uniform that she was a Major in the Mars Mech units. During the flight up, she stated that she was a mech designer, particularly the ones driven by AIs. Shark maintained a neutral face, but inside hated those machines because he had fought them and seen commanders in the Dragoons trade whole platoons of troops to bring one down.
Flying in First Class, everyone enjoyed free drinks and food. When the shuttle was reaching the top of it's ballistic path, Zero-G took over, and a stewardess floated over to Shark. She gave him a small piece of paper. It was to a Dr. Watson, and informed him to have his people strap in for an emergency burn. Shark did so, and within ten seconds the ships thrusters fired, sending the space plane into a higher orbit where it would meet the Space Station Straylight.
Sometimes called the spindle, Straylight is a long football shaped station that spins on it's axis from tip to tip. Over a kilometer long, it is an orbiting den of scum and villany unlike any you will find anywhere else in the galaxy. But that is not to say it is without class. Only the richest and most opulant decadants can make it home. Visitors are those with huge bankrolls; either corporates, freelancers, or anyone else that can pay for the extravagent hotels, meals, and transportation.
The shuttle prepared to dock as it suffered damage in the re-boost and two passangers were wounded in the coach section. After docking was complete, and everyone was off of the shuttle, a feeling of euphoria took over and people went about enjoying themselves. Mo sent a runner to inform Spydr of their hotel rooms, and that all accounts were covered.
During the general free for all that followed, I will give only the high points. Shark and Zona walked the beaches arm in arm, enjoying the false sun. They went swimming and then layed around on the beaches. Shark did not have to twist her arm very hard for them to go looking for a secluded thatched roof hut in the Polynesian Village and the carnal delights that followed. Kid Stealth, Half-Pint, and Gator went about seeing bar, brothel, and gambling den on the station. Spydr decided that being alone was the worst thing that could happen and decided to use a corporate for his body. Luckily she had good taste.
After tiring themselves for an afternoon out in the sun, Shark and Zona went for dinner at a Mongolian Grill. They met Kazure, who was still using the Karie seventeen year old girl disguise, for the meal. Kazure quickly informed Zona that he wanted to undergo the procedure for freedom. Zona agreed and both her and Kazure left, but Shark says that everyone there thought he was one fly hard pimp the time the two of them were with him. Both were quite appealing to the eye, and easy to look at, if for no other reason than they were toppless.
After finishing all three meals, Shark bullied his way past Zona's door guard at the Treatment center she had access to up there. Inside he observed the procedure from behind the glass walls, and afterwards he and Zona made us of a 'semi-private' room.
In the meantime, Spydr had located her man for the evening after inciting some not-so-firendly male contests. She joined him back at his hotel room for the best sex he would ever have. If there was ever someone who was ridden hard and put away wet, it was the poor man that was shouting her name that night.
Later that night, the fun and games came to an end. Shark recieved a call from Spydr while watching Zona finish up the operation on Kazure. She said, "Shark I have files on COINe that I took from a corporate. I'm sending them to you." The kleptomaniac spoke in a wisper so as not to wake up the Input sleeping deeply on the bed. Then in the background Shark heard a knock at the door. Spydr gasped and said gotta go; Shark became very nervous at that. Back in the suite where Spydr had just heard the knock, it came again. "Open up. Arasaka Security."
