WAMS swimming at ya !!!! The West Allegheny girls middle school swim team just keeps on cruising ! 38-1-1 coming into this season, and now have gone to 40-1-1 with 2 wins on the season. Plus 2 new team records, Miss Briana Mangis lowered her back record time twice already this season, first from 31.76 to 31.50 and now at 31.37 ! Kim Schade was oh so close as she went 31.38 in the backstroke, and Kim is the other record breaker on the season bettering Amber Zinski's 50 free record of 27.27 as Kim posted a 26.94 ! The ladies look very soild, but they can't let up - the tough teams are yet to come, first Carlynton, then Montour, and then arch rivals Moon. It should be fun as these girls try to keep that undefeated streak alive, currently at 8 in a row. The boys have been doing well, especially since we only have two, but two with heart. They beat a Northgate squad of three, 33 - 31 in a good meet. Mike Casciato and Adam Neiport are doing a solid job, most boys choose other sports and when I ask why they say swimming is too hard !!! Well not for these guys who are in there working hard - keep it up guys - your looking good ! Next meet > Thursday the 27th - Carlynton @ West A - come on out and watch our awesome team ! |
Carla Galbraith Carla - Mrs. Concession person plus !!! Carla has been running our food and concessions at our meets for the past several seasons now. And she has done a fantastic job. Always one of the first at the meets and usually the last to leave, not to mention much running around on her part. It is a very challenging position and Carla has mastered it well. So make sure we say thanks to her, thats all the pay she gets ! Let her know we appreciate her great efforts, it helps the TEAM tremendously and takes a good deal of time on those meet days and prior to them. BIG THANKS Carla for all that you do - we appreciate it !!! WAAC Coaches and TEAM Why swim WAAC ???????????? If you want to be a GOOD swimmer there is not much of a choice. Many swimmers choose to just swim high school or middle school. Then they have 8 months off from training. Most swimmers loose conditioning and timing after 6 to 8 weeks off. So those who take a break come back trying to just get back to where they left off. Those who continue on are establishing new goals. Swim WAAC ! |
